Go to Tumbleweeds website to get the real Facebook and Twitter links, and complain about it. I read an article not too long ago where companies have used social media to improve upon their customer service(like the above examples). It's a very strong tool, and believe it or not, they want your feedback. Also, they will be much more willing to appease you, when the information is out there for the public to see.

I posted on their facebook page a few minutes ago.

as to why we went to a chain place? Why not? I agree local places sometimes are the best, but there is absolutely no reason why I couldnt get a great meal at Tumbleweed. In fact....my steak was extremely good and I would go back in a second if it wasnt for how they messed up her's.

The onions litterly looked like they took a dirty mop and warmed it up and put on the steak. It was so nasty, and it make her steak taste horrid as well.

Don't totally agree. Some chains have been built from the ground up to be chains. They tend to be poor to meedy oaker. Others were good restaurants that expanded to multiple locations. Of those, some change the way they do things, almost always for the worse. Some do not, and are every bit as good as mom and pop down the street, because that's exactly what they were, and remain so.

Chains, IMO, have a limited range of what to expect. It's probably going to be a 4 or 5 on a 10-point scale. It's familiar. Which is fine for a lot of people. Local could be a 1 or 2, or it could be a 9 or 10, and there's a chance you'll be forced out of a comfort zone. Which is better for me, personally. That's how I look at it.

Fly4Fun why did you delete my post? You didn't contact the BCS to display your displeasure over their system, you posted on a random message board how you voiced your displeasure by cooking dinner with your girlfriend. Basically the same thing you are calling tha voice out for here. Why the hypocrisy, bro?

I unapproved your post because it was a personal attack that didn't add anything to the discussion but trying to be a prick(go read Justin's first post on the sticky thread).

And I didn't contact the BCS because that would be ludicrous. The BCS is not going to change anything because I as an individual voice my displeasure. They wouldn't give me a refund or somehow alter anything as a result of my complaint at that time. I did however vote with my "wallet" by choosing not to watch the majority of the games including the Championship Game as did many other people.

If you can't see the difference between the situations then I can't help you.

Also, you need to cool it with the way you are posting. The relevant sentence from the Justin's sticky thread to you is, "There's a difference between funny banter and trying to be the biggest possible prick that you can be."

Everytime I travel for work the first thing I ask the hotel people is "what is the best local restaurant around, I do not want to go to a chain".

It goes both ways, at the same time (at least around here) local places basically serve variations of salted grease, as the older generation thinks that is the solution to everything.

We try to that type of stuff too when we travel. Try to use the rule that we will not eat any place that we have within an hour of at home.
The only thing is......if I do go to a chain place I think I have a better chance of having a good meal. Local places can be either great but also I have been very unimpressed with selection and taste.

If they wouldnt have served us the ends of a dirty mop and a brick hard cornbread then this would have been a very good experience. My steak was very good. Many places dont make it rare like I prefer...most seem to do med rare when ya ask for it (probably for liablity maybe?)

I filled out the telltumbleweed thing again and basically said that the solution to this issue was more insulting than the actual poor meal.

...I can't figure out you didn't let your wife do all the complaining at Tumbleweed since A) It was her order that was F'd up not yours and B) since she always has your balls in her purse to begin with, she obviously had more stones at her disposal to voice her displeasure.:)
