Aldo/Florian was a good fight if you actually like and understand the game. It was boring if you're one of the people only there for fireworks.bigdaddy2003;928419 wrote:I couldn't get a link to keep working and I frankly wasn't that upset. From what I read Aldo/Florian was boring and I would have liked to see Frankie/Gray even though I wanted Gray to win.
I am ready for the 29th though. I will buy that one.

This is how I feel also. I'm the guy who is always looking for GSP to get beat. Ha I doubt Condit is the man to do it but it would be nice.Hb31187;928439 wrote:Unfortunately the next card has the most boring champion in the history of the UFC. At least theres some good fights along side it

Condit will make him fight I think, and yeah, 137 is nasty and loaded!Hb31187;928439 wrote:Unfortunately the next card has the most boring champion in the history of the UFC. At least theres some good fights along side it

141 is the only card I truly care about coming up, that and 139 since Shogun and Hendo are fighting 2 of my favorites fighters haha.
I'll catch the next one online. GSP hopefully will do more than jab for 5 rounds this time around.

Don't get me wrong, it is a stacked card. Is it a card that makes me want to buy it? No lol.

Guillard has always been hype because of his athleticism and punching power, Guillard has consistantly lost to good ground guys so it is not a surprise.Hb31187;926890 wrote:Guillard lost to ****ing Lauzon? Joe ****ing Lauzon? seriously
Lauzon is not a chump, he was 1 fight away from a title shot when he lost to Florian. Lauzon is one of those guys that aren't top tier but are really just below the top tier. His ground game is dang good, has a ton of submission wins.

I thought it was a very good/technical fight, but what do I know.Hb31187;927164 wrote:What a terrible title fight between Aldo and Florian. Boring as hell

Totally agreed, Lauzon is no bum he is very well rounded and has always been one big win away from being elite. Melvin has to learn some humility, he is fast, explosive, great wrestler and power in his hands but he has always had problems with his submission defense. He also seems to have a suspect chin, both Lauzon and Joe Stevenson rocked him with a jab and finished him immediately. He is in the right camp to improve on his flaws but he has to respect his opponents, there are no easy fights.jmog;928651 wrote:Guillard has always been hype because of his athleticism and punching power, Guillard has consistantly lost to good ground guys so it is not a surprise.

It didn't end up being what I thought it would be but it was a very good and hard fought technical fight, Jose has seemed more human these last few fights but he is fighting smart and negating everything his opponents have had to offer. Chad Mendes presents a stiff challenge in the wrestling department.jmog;928653 wrote:I thought it was a very good/technical fight, but what do I know.

robj, I agree, that is the 2nd time Guillard has been rocked by a guy who isn't known for their striking and immediately submitted.
Guillard's submission defense sucks, he is a good wrestler and has a ton of power in his hands, but once he is on the ground he gets submitted everytime if the other guy is a good BJJ guy.

You can have an opinion, im not saying you're wrong. Just was not a fan of how the fight went, florian puttin em against the wall and stalling most of the fightjmog;928653 wrote:I thought it was a very good/technical fight, but what do I know.

Did you watch the fight? The only round I remember Aldo being against the fence was part of round 1. He most certainly was not stalling.Hb31187;937422 wrote:You can have an opinion, im not saying you're wrong. I feel bad for Kenny because the guy is everything that is good about MMA but can’t get to the very top. You can tell he has made a concerted effort to improve his all around game, specifically by emulating the wrestling of GSP. There were multiple times in that fight where he timed Aldo’s punches perfectly and ducked them for a takedown but couldn’t get it. He was just not quite explosive enough to get it done.

Did we watch the same fight? They weren't against the wall that much. And being against the cage is not necessarily stalling....Couture was a master at damage against the cage.Hb31187;937422 wrote:You can have an opinion, im not saying you're wrong.
