4-0 Penn started off strong with a takedown but Frankie comes back and dominates more!

That sweep was nasty!!

What amazes me is how much Edgar has taken controlled this fight when its gone to the ground. I would have thought Penn would be able to control that aspect of the fight more than he has. Even off of his back I would have thought that BJ would have a serious advantage there.

What a performance by Edgar. Look forward to watching him fight Maynard next.

What/who do you think is up next for BJ?

BJ didn't win though. Maynard is gonna fight Edgar for the title next. It just seems to me that BJ has proven to be better than just about everybody else at 155. I don't think he'll make a move to 170, because he has to know he can take GSP. At 155, Edgar may just be a stylistic nightmare that he cannot overcome. You know BJ wants to have gold around his waist again.

Yea. I don't like Diaz.. But he did look good in his last 2 figths at 170. He is asking for a top 3 opponent next.. I think a good matchup would be Dan Hardy.. Hardy is not Top 3 but I think it would be a war.

That would be a good fight. Who would be considered the top 3 at 170? Diaz needs to stay at 170 he is quite effective more so than 155 but imo he beat Guida but the decision didn't go his way. Either way as long as one of the Diaz brothers is fighting I will be watching.

1. Georges St. Pierre
2. Jon Fitch
3. Josh Koscheck

All of these fighters would have little problem defeating Diaz.

also on the top 10 are Matt Hughes, Dan Hardy & Thiago Alves all of whom I think would also defeat Diaz. 170 is Stacked.

I don't think Diaz is a top tier guy. He's a guy who can fight well but against the really good guys I don't think he can win.

Nate has earned a top 3 fight while I agree that there better fights ie matchups out there he deserves a chance at a top 3 fighter and title shot in early spring of 11. Pending he wins those fights.

Not disputing that Nate deserves a top 3 fight. I just don't thing he has a chance to beat anyone in the top 3.

^^^ This.

I have no problem with him getting top tier fights. He has earned them. I just don't think he can win them. He might be able to keep it competitive and put on a good show but he won't be winning the fights against the really good guys.

Most 155'ers would have beaten BJ last night, there is clearly something wrong with him and its not all Frankie Edgar. He looked like a depressed guy thinking about retiring in his post fight interview.

The guy who wrote his book said that BJ is dealing with major family issues now and thinks he battling depression. He said he didnt train for this fight at all. Also said he went eight weeks without hitting pads in the middle of camp. His camp is family and they are enabling him right now. His only hope is to get out of Hawaii and join a new team. No question in my mind that BJ who fought Florian, Sherk, Diego takes Frankie out.
