Are the Giants the new "evil empire"? They've won two out of the last five Super Bowls.

I am pretty sure if you substitute Colt McCoy in for Eli Manning the Giants aren't winning a SB, and everyone is talking about how desperately they need wide receivers.

Eli has some big stones on him.

It was actually a very good precise throw by Brady who was trying to lead him safely away from the inside defender as there was no one outside. Welker just didn't come up with it, one that he usually does as he is excellent at adjusting to the ball in the air which is a big reason why he is a favorite of Brady. I think with all things considered it was a safer play to throw it where he did and figure that Welker could adjust than throw it right in stride to Welker and risk the inside defender knocking it loose!

Fair enough, and I agree the Pats will continue to have that target on their back, but I think the Giants are approaching that territory. Definitely not the "lovable underdogs" after this one.

He's still mediocre, and my opinion won't change. The only thing he succeeded in tonight was not turning over the ball.

Deperately needs to work on accuracy. Most of his throws tonight were behind receivers.

Apparently you missed the part about his receivers being awesome. Just because he had a high completion percentage doesn't mean his balls are accurate. A lot of them were high, or behind receivers. He was lucky none of them were tipped and intercepted.

While I understand your criticisms of Eli, the 2 super bowls and all the 4th qtr comebacks speak for themselves.

Also, Randy Moss had the greatest WR season of all time and Welker had a GREAT year. They were way better than this years NYG.

Only guy I feel bad for is Robert Kraft. Great guy, lost his wife, owns his team the right way, instrumental in ending lockout. Hurt to watch that.

He lacks in accuracy.
Find me an inaccurate QB then, because all the accurate ones were ringless this year. It is a wildly overrated stat.

I will take clutchness over accuracy any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

That throw to Manningham literally couldn't have been thrown any better in a tighter window. For as good a catch it the throw was even better under the circumstances.

Nice seeing that no-name-in-the-grand-scheme-of-things guy from Ohio (Blackburn, who was who was signed only a few weeks ago, right?) get a big red zone pick to really halt any momentum the Pats might have been getting offensively. One of those little things that pays off for a team...the exact opposite of, say, cutting a guy so Ocho can be on the active roster.

I'm watching the highlights and haven't seen one ball to a WR that was completed that was "inaccurate". It's only been 8 or so passes, but Eli hardly constituted being called inaccurate tonight. He bounced a few passes, but 75% is fantastic.

Some were thrown in more difficult places due to keeping it away from the defenders. High ones especially! Some were just high enough to get over the front defenders and came in just barely low enough for the receivers to catch. The hitting defenseless receivers rule helps high passes be more effective now.

The only clutchness on the field today was the Manningham(?) catch that was reviewed.

Yeah pretty cool. I played against Blackburn in HS and its pretty neat seeing him have a big game in the SB

In my opinion, the trio of Nicks, Cruz, and Manningham is one of the best in NFL history.

So I disagree the Pats' WRs are better.
