These games and the combine do indeed change the draft status of many players. Unfortunately, based on results, they should not. How one performs in practice for an all-star game logically should not override what one has seen in watching someone play for four years. In the case of Mr. Adams, that's someone who is a bit soft, and a pro journeyman at absolute best.

Listening to 92.3 yesterday they had former NFL QB Jim Miller, who is covering the Senior Bowl, on.

Miller said the Vikings & Redskins coaches coached last years Senior Bowl and they got to spend one on one time with all of these players for an extended period and got to see how players performed one on one (minus usual double teams) to see how they'd do.

Minny spent a lot of time with Ponder and, from what Miller said, Minny selected all players that they worked with at the Senior Bowl in the draft. I'm sure Ponder having a good Senior Bowl game didn't hurt his chances.

A lot of that has to do with being busy, so to say. During the season, the guys working with the team (coaches, assistants) essentially everyone who's job ISN'T scouting is devoted full time to their team. Coaches don't necessarily get a chance to get a nice long look at certain players, especially not in person, except for the all star bowls.
