That you see on History channel?

There was a fair amount of people from this area that were in vegas last week for the sportsshow and the Miss America pagaent. One day a number of them were going to go out to that Pawn stars place and was told it is 20 bucks to get in.

Is that true? I can see them doing that as so many people are just gonna go there to site-see. Do ya get your $$ back if you buy stuff there?

Just curious....

I went there in October 2010 and we had to wait in line about 20 minutes, but did not have to pay to get in.

I was in Vegas the second week of June this past year. There were usually lines to get it but on the day I visited I did not have to wait in line and it was free to get in. I imagine they might have charged because that event was in town. Honestly, I don't know how they do business with all the tourists flocking there just to look and leave.

Also, they have such a tiny store and out of the little floor space they had, about half of it was used to sell souvenirs like Rick's book and Chumlee tshirts.

I guess most of them came back with Tshirts, hats and such from there so I imagine that is a decent business for them as well....plus ya gotta think that a certain percentage of the 'tourists' who go and dont intend to buy something do actually purchase.

thavoice's rationing:

hey i'm going to ask an ohio-based message board if they've been to a random place on the other side of the country. it's not a vacation destination, it's just a random pawn shop from a TV show. it'll garner lots of replies because everyone will totally give a shit.

Vegas is not a vacation destination?

Not really a random pawn shop, it is one from a very popular show that is near the top of the ratings for cable tv.

You obviously were dumb enough to reply.

Vegas IS a vacation destination, but you specifically mentioned the pawn shop, NOT Vegas.

The pawn shop would be near the bottom of most peoples list if they went to Vegas.

Rick has stated that they got a little too big and security has become a huge issue. When I was there none of the employees that appear on the show were there, except for the bodyguard.
