You think it's ok to put "Lady chinky eyes" on a receipt that is given to a customer?Scarlet_Buckeye;1049137 wrote:Political correctness strikes again.
No its not okay. But what is stupid is why this is made news. If you're offended by "lady chinky eyes" you need to grow some thicker skin. I seriously will never understand why this shit is such a big deal, I have been called way worse and I don't care about what people say about me. This lady needs to grow up.FatHobbit;1049157 wrote:You think it's ok to put "Lady chinky eyes" on a receipt that is given to a customer?
Figured you would be back and one of your first posts back would be on something racial.sleeper;1049165 wrote:No its not okay. But what is stupid is why this is made news. There is nothing that a straight white male can be called that is offensive.sleeper;1049165 wrote:No its not okay. But what is stupid is why this is made news. Exactly. Do you know why this is? Because straight white men have thick skin.justincredible;1049191 wrote:There is nothing that a straight white male can be called that is offensive.
No, it's because there is literally not a single offensive thing we can be called. It has nothing to do with thick skin.sleeper;1049208 wrote:Exactly. Do you know why this is? Because straight white men have thick skin.
If you take offense to anything that someone says, you deserve the negative feelings. I don't feel sorry for anyone getting picked on, this is the way we weed out the weak in our society. I'm not advocating bullying in the form of violence because violence is never the answer, but I think verbal abuse is important to creating a stronger more independent person.
White trash?justincredible;1049212 wrote:No, it's because there is literally not a single offensive thing we can be called.
Jackass? Asshole? MF'r? I know these don't offend you because white men have thick skin. They are race neutral terms.justincredible;1049212 wrote:No, it's because there is literally not a single offensive thing we can be called. It has nothing to do with thick skin.
Indeed. Calling a white guy an "asshole" is not even in the same universe as calling an Asian "lady chinky eyes."sleeper;1049224 wrote:Jackass? Asshole? MF'r? I know these don't offend you because white men have thick skin. They are race neutral terms.
Try calling a black man any of those words, I'm sure they won't just brush it off. Instead they are likely to label you a racist.
Why?justincredible;1049267 wrote:Indeed. Calling a white guy an "****" is not even in the same universe as calling an Asian "lady chinky eyes."
Because asshole isn't a racial slur?sleeper;1049285 wrote:Why?
I guess I should rephrase. Why is a racial slur considered to be worse? That is what I'm trying to allude to.justincredible;1049298 wrote:Because **** isn't a racial slur?
The easily offended spend money too, and Papa Johns is not currently in the position of offending any potential customers.sleeper;1049165 wrote:If you're offended by "lady chinky eyes" you need to grow some thicker skin.
I'm not defending Papa Johns. I'm merely saying this is an overreaction and should not be national news or any news at best. If the situation occurred where I was the customer and the person wrote "Jackass" as my name on the receipt, I would either laugh or call to the attention of their error. I wouldn't go on to social media and try to paint myself as a victim and imply that Papa Johns is somehow racist or insensitive to consumer's feelings.queencitybuckeye;1049304 wrote:The easily offended spend money too, and Papa Johns is not currently in the position of offending any potential customers.
