Supposedly due to the new Pac12/B1G agreement. I guess they (the conferences) are dicking around about scheduling the games and it's rumored they (OSU) were gonna run out of time to get out of the contract without buyout.

Yeah I read that the official agreement between UGA and OSU had to be done by the end of this month.

Not sure if its been mentioned, but the Shoe is getting a new scoreboard. I first heard about it today.
Bobek will get a student athlete aid package for his final 2 years. But he has to pay his way this upcoming year and loses 2 years of eligibility (redshirt for NCAA transfer, and 1 year for B1G rule, at least they can coincide). Kind of dumb if you ask me.
Good. As long as Meyer continues to uphold the highest ethics and compete both on and off the field, I don't care how much his paycheck is.

It's either that or ride the bench and win championships. Very dumb.
COLUMBUS - Ohio State could begin the season without its starting running back.
Senior Jordan Hall will miss 10 weeks after undergoing surgery Friday for a cut on the bottom of his right foot, a team spokesman said. Hall suffered the injury while walking in the grass outside his Columbus residence.
“This is an unfortunate accident to a really fine young man,” OSU coach Urban Meyer said in a release. “He’s handling things well, though. He’ll be in a non-weight bearing cast for about six weeks and then he’ll rehabilitate the injury for at least four weeks after that.”
Meyer called Hall the team's top playmaker after the spring game and projects the Jeannette, Pa., native as run-catch hybrid filling a similar role as former Florida star Percy Harvin. Hall has 817 career rushing yards and 202 receiving yards

That's still pretty crazy to require surgery and out 10 weeks. Sucks for him.

I'm assuming he cut a tendon, which would require this type of lengthy recovery.

Tidbits from another site...
iPad's- They will have the entire playbooks on them. When you get to a play, you will be able to turn to the next page to see some "notes" about the play ie: what to look for, what to do in certain situations. The next page will have a diagram against different defenses. The next page (not right now, but they are working on it) will have video of the play being ran in a game. This is new wave stuff that NFL teams do and a couple college teams, but OSU is trying to take it to the next level. The Bengals don't even do it though... (Go figure! cheap Mike Brown)
Friday Night Light's- Going to have "special coaches" ie: the WR's will have Anthony Gonzales, Joey Galloway and Terry Glenn helping out! Not bad to have 3 first round WR's working one on one with your top WR targets.
Speaking of Anthony Gonzales, he has been working out with the team and working with the WR's in drills giving them tips.
Zach Boren might be their best "football player" and he WILL get the ball this year.
Decker is going to be an absolute STUD. The way he is able to bend being that big is almost unheard of.
The new staff absolutely is blown away by the past Buckeye's and their dedication to tOSU. At Florida players would come back but not really interact with current players. A lot of them wouldn't even come back... At OSU, the past players are coming back, working out with the team, working with the players after workouts, watching film doing anything they can to make sure they carry on the tradition. They have been completely blown away and are so excited to see this.
Brian Rolle is back working out and they use him as a staple when it comes to recruiting players. "We rejected him at Florida because he was too small and look how great he turned out! He's starting in the NFL and was a beast at OSU." I think this is when coaches started really looking at heart and competitiveness when they saw guys like this turning out to be great. "You can't teach heart" (Jacoby Boren mentioned when talking about guys that they wouldn't have went after that will be multi-year starters)
They are FIRED UP about this coming year and can't wait to get the first season under their belt and get that entire off season to recruit.
Also, I know OL and LB recruiting have been a hot topic on here... Here are a couple things to remember. With this offense, the hurry up and the variety of formations, motions and uncertainty. The OL is going to look a TON better than what they really are. Now you can't go putting a bunch of schleps out there, but they don't have to be "The Hog's" to win games. The defense WILL be playing on their heels, bet that!
As for LB's, with the DL haul we have and continue to bring in, the LB's and DB's are going to look GREAT. So much pressure on the OL and the QB's to force things, it's really going to be fun to watch. The LB's they brought in last year coupled with the LB's they have a great start with next year leaves the staff able to be "picky" with this years.
Like someone else posted, I believe Otterbein or Naples, we have one of, if not THE best recruiting staff and HC in the country. When you hear/see the staff reaching and panicking, then you should panic. Otherwise, just relax and enjoy the top 5 class we have!
