Zaire - OSU is sitting good with Texas QB JT Barrett and Zaire wants to commit early. I think Urban wants to take a shot at a better rated prospect than Zaire.
Breneman - PSU. Josh McNeil deserves an * next to his name.
Smith - Despite what OSU insiders say, I don't feel confident about OSU's chances. Unless Rod Smith makes an impact this year, I doubt Jaylon comes to OSU. If his brother weren't involved, I'd feel a LOT better about OSU's chances. But you cannot never count Urban out.
Day - Not sure he has an offer at this point. I think there are a few other CBs higher up on OSU's board.
I'd add Tashawn Bower and Greg Webb to that list, as well. And it wouldn't surprise me if Love committed this weekend.
Zaire WANTS to be a Buckeye. The question with him is,
does the staff WANT him?
Barrett is 134, Zaire is 136. There's really not a difference between the two. I think the staff is waiting for camp to see them throw in person.
Breneman does seem like a heavy PSU lean.
I'm not familiar enough with
McNeil's recruitment to say one way or the other.
I completely agree about
Smith. I think it all comes down to his brother, Rod. If Rod leaves, Ohio State's chances drop to virtually zero. If Rod Stays, OSU's chances rise to somewhere around 50%. If Rod makes a significant contribution, Jaylon to OSU is probably closer to 75%.
As for
Day, I've read nothing but good things for Ohio State. Seems like Day would really like to be a Buckeye. He does have an offer (verbal), but it is not a commit-able one at the moment.
Love will be a Buckeye soon.
I too think it's only a matter of time before
Webb announces Ohio State.
As for
Bower, I'm not familiar enough with his recruitment to say one way or the other. Just don't know enough about him.
