You want to know why you think the ACC has so much depth? It is beause ESPN tells you so. We always hear how good Clemson is and this year (and every other year) is supposed to be the magical year when FSU and Miami return to past glory.
I said the ACC was equally terrible at the top. The top being the teams that make BCS games. Neither conference had a legitimate BCS worthy team this year. And I didn't say it has "so much depth", I said it has more depth than the Big East. Which is like saying a 4 foot pool has more depth than a kiddie pool. If you think either is deep enough to dive into you're an idiot.
I think there were at least 5 teams in the ACC better than the #3 team in the Big East (Louisville or Rutgers). Clemson, Va Tech, and FSU for sure. Then I would say Georgia Tech and at least one of Virginia/NC State/UNC. UNC beat Louisville
and Rutgers head to head, and NC State beat Louisville in the bowl game.
When only 5/8 teams in your conference are bowl eligible, and 2 of those 5 finish with at least 6 losses, you aren't very deep. They both suck at the top, the ACC is much stronger in the middle, and the Big East is better at the bottom.
Also, I pretty much drive the "FSU and Miami still suck" bandwagon. I'm the one who points out how overrated they are and picks them both to lose 5 games again every year.
