Looking forward to heading out to this again this year. This time I have to work the booth instead of being able to just attend and walk around.

projector is the way to go for big screen.

I have 100" of HD goodness in my basement for under $1500, that 84" Tv probably runs for a ton of cash.

Agreed. I have a 78" screen. It cost me $900.

how does it look with lights on? and you also need a certain amount of room(distance) to have a projector that big correct?

Projectors will be forgotten when the technology allows for these 85"+ tv's to be hung on the wall. Way better pictures and can be viewed in lighted rooms.

Lights on = horrible

It really should be in a basement or a room where you can control the lighting....unless you only plan to watch at night.

With a good projector that you can adjust (no fixed lens) you don't need all that much room to work with.... My basement is like 20' long, but I have the room broken into 2 parts -- office on one half, theater seats/screen on the other side --- the projector is only 10' from the wall (so in the middle of the room, roughly).

For example:

I have a slightly older model of this projector: http://www.projectorcentral.com/Epson-PowerLite_Home_Cinema_8350.htm

Y
ou can mess with this calculator to get an idea: http://www.projectorcentral.com/Epson-PowerLite_Home_Cinema_8350-projection-calculator-pro.htm

T
his shows that with this projector, you need to have the projector mounted roughly 10' away (throw distance) from the screen to produce a 100" image....If you have 15' to work with, you could technically produce a 170" image.

Agreed, but I think we are a long ways away from an 80-100" TV that can be mounted for under $2,000.

This. For the price of the TV's they really should come with them... at least for like a week.
