Flashback. Time for a great moment in Steelers playoff history

This is really one of the great touchdown passes of all-time.
Bradshaw to Swann in Super Bowl X
Consider the situation, Steelers clinging to a 15-10 lead in the 4th quarter...3rd and 6...Bradshaw takes a big shot which would be a personal foul today...and he throws the ball 65 yards in the air right on the money.

Was watching NFL kickoff on ESPN and Schlereth(sp?) was tagging on Teblow, showing plays demonstrating how he never makes the throw right away when the receiver is open and instead hesitates and has to wait for his receiver to get open a second time and how that leads to plays, even when completions, not being as successful as they should have been. One play even showed his FB or TE being injured bc Teblow didny pull the trigger quick when the receiver was at first open.
My thinking is this weekend the pressure Timmy H Christ will be under will either force him to make the quick decision, instead of hesitating, and actually be a positive or it will cause him to get blown up. Wouldn't mind seeing Teblow getting the dogshat knocked out of him while still doing enough to beat Pittsburgh. That would be the best scenario.

Say what you want about Joey Porter but I think he led the way back in 2005 as far as being a locker room leader and keeping that chip on everyone's shoulders.

I don't mean to make a joke of Kirby Wilson's condition because it's serious but to think about the Steelers situation right now as they head to Denver....
...first of all they're old, their quarterback is hobbling around, Pouncey is out, Clark is out with a rare sickle cell trait that is impacted the most in Denver, LaMarr Woodley will play but he's only about 50 percent, they have only three healthy running backs and none were drafted players, their running backs coach is in the hospital badly burned.
But then again they're still 8.5 point favorites on the road.

I would have given Denver more of a shot if they were playing like they did a couple games ago. Steelers by 10+.

IF the Steelers take care of business tomorrow...they'll head to New England next Saturday night.

Getting pumped now.
Team is facing some adversity but they have before and won games. We'll see.

Steelers have been horrible on offense lately and Denver is pretty much never good on O. I dont see anyone scoring over 17. Steelers win 17-9.

As I said on the other thread, it all depends on Redman and the offensive line.
I think either one of two things will happen.
- Steelers can't run the ball and get upset.
- Redman has a good game and makes a name for himself and the Steelers move on

I think the steelers get several tebow turnovers today....
Steelers 20-7.

Don't be surprised if you see Quinn sometime. If Tebow plays as bad as he has the last couple weeks, they have nothing to lose by giving him a shot.

Remember at the beginning of last season when Ben was suspended?
The Steelers tried to play more like they used to, running the ball and playing defense.
I think they'll try to be like that, with an injured Big Ben.

I think they will pass it more with Mendenhall and Moore out. Ben is tough, he can handle it.Non;1042914 wrote:Remember at the beginning of last season when Ben was suspended?

I look for the Steelers to blitz on nearly every down. They just have to be cautious when they do as to not over run the draw play or screen. I don't theink they get beat by the deep pass. I do see them giving up some short passes to the flats or over the middle.
On O, I like putting the game in Ben's hands.
NFL on Twitter this morning denied the rumor that Quinn took reps with the 1's this week in practice.

Denver doesn't have a great run defense. They have some quick defensive linemen but they're on the smallish side.
I think they can have success on the ground and that will open up the passing game.

Redman just needs to hold onto the ball this week. I am sure he has been through every drill ever imagined to help him hold on.
