I don't like how Tebow has played poorly a few weeks in a row.

Yeah, you would think the Steelers experienced defense vs. Tebow would be a huge advantage but how many Steelers games have we watched? They'll let em off the hook on some third downs and the offense won't score enough to create any breathing room.

It's going to be down to the bitter end. Either Tebow scores a game winner or the Steelers stop him at the goal line and escape.

Keep in mind, Suisham stinks and Prater can hit from 55+ rather easily.

This could be good for the Steelers because I presume Tebow hasn't been running the ball 20+ times per game because they have been trying to down play his Aaron Rodgers's type arm.

I'll take LeBeau over Tebow any day of the week.
BUt do you take LeBeau over God?

I think what Elway means about pulling the trigger is to just drop back, see the receiver, and throw the ball and dont overthink it, dont wait until he is 'wide' open, and dont overanalyze it and just be a bit of a gunslinger.

open in the NFL is diff than any other level. Tebow doesnt recognize when people are open until its too late.

I would take LeBeau over 90% of the QB's in the NFL so not sure what your point is.

Well said. Part of a major reason that I've been railing on Colt McCoy for so long. Having WR's running free in the open in college is A LOT different than the tight windows one needs to throw into in the NFL. Dorothy....we aren't in Kansas anymore. Time to step up and play with the big boys.

This is likely what Elway is implying. You wait too long and the opportunity is gone, defenders adjust and you're throwing 3 interceptions in a game.

Tebow throwing the ball doesn't scare me, unless the Steelers are taken way off guard by it, and now that Elway made that statement I doubt they will be.

To be a good NFL QB you need to throw the ball at times even before he makes his break. As the QB you have to think to yourself....OK..he is doing this route, should be in this spot after his break and throw the ball according to what the defense gives ya.

It is a principle you learn really in HS as a QB, at least I did, and i wasnt a very good QB. Tebow knows it too. Heck, our HS team has a play here they throw to the flag and if the coverage is right the QB throws the ball before the WR even makes his FAKE to the inside.

I think that is the last thing that comes as an NFL QB...the total anticipation of the route. You have to know exactly where every receiver is going to be, and from the pre snap read to the post snap read of what the defense is doing then you know who should get open. You see inside leverage by a DB and the QR is to do some sort of in route....may not wanna anticipate the throw inside. Ya see the inside leverage and know the WR is doing something to the outside then you get that read to toss it to where he will be before he is even open.

Hell...many receptions in the NFL I would call the guy fairly well covered

I think the broncos will come out in the hurry up at some point in the 1st qtr. A few things that will do is
A. Tire out the defense at that altitude.
B. Make the defense play more of a base D and not be able to run their whole allotment of blitzes
C. Tebow runs it effectively and it makes it a backyard football game.
D. They havent been doing much the last few weeks so this is a way to give themselves an edge.

I dont think Denver will win if they try what they have so far with Tebow, or at least they shouldnt be able to. I think they realize they need a wrinkle to jump start them.

A model in the past to beat the steelers is to throw the ball, throw it often, throw it on 1st down, and throw many short routes. It really is almost a favor when teams line up and try to run on first down over the years against the steelers defense.

Steelers take this one by +14 and hopefully make Elway's off-season strategies to acquire a real NFL QB much easier for the idiots in Denver to comprehend.

I think the Steelers need to show different looks at the line and force Tebow to call an audible often, this veteran defense can do that with essentially the same personnel package. They can show the loo and drop into another defense. And, yes, the short route especially with LB coverage or quick outs on our overly cautious corners have been effective this season. Especially on third down.

The O does need to get at least a couple of first downs on each possession to give the defense some time to catch their breath.

I still think Denver will try to slow the game down, and Pittsburgh will need to pick up the tempo of the game.

But what the hell do we know? We are message board coaches, Tomlin has yet to call me at halftime to see what I think the team should do.

Since LeBeau's the real one of the two, yes.

That's because he usually is calling me at halftime!

I think the steelers will try to bait Tebow. Showing of blitzes and then dropping off into the hot route lanes. I am thinking Timmons will be a guy who will mirror Tebow and put a big hit or two on him when he tries to run.

There is enough film now of what denver likes to do, and the tendancies of him and the denver offense, and that is why the last few weeks he has been stopped. When that happpens you either have to expand your game, or become absolutely balls on accurate on the throws and execute flawlessly

I wouldnt say that! BUT I do believe LeBeau was the LB coach for the team that Jesus formed so he and God are pretty tight.

Pouncey might be out for Sunday. Read reports that he said his ankle was really sore after Wednesday's practice and that it "felt funny."

Not sounding real good right now.

A lot of injuries but if Redman plays like I think he's capable of playing I think it will cover up a lot of their shortcomings.

I would say if they beat Denver and go onto play a competitive game against either New England or Baltimore, even if they lose, that's acceptable. Can't lose to Denver or it's going to be a major disappointment.

Not a real good vibe.

I don't like how Denver has been down the past few games. Chances are they'll bounce back and play a good game.

We still have to worry about their defense, particularly Dumervil and Miller rushing against a limpy quarterback.

I feel like this is much closer to 2007 when the Steelers lost to Jacksonville than 2005 when they went on their road playoff run.

But here's the thing. Steelers made it to three Super Bowls with many of these players and coaches. It's not like they don't get it.

If they're knocked out of the playoffs it will probably be a tough out, some kind of last second loss in a game where they're very close.

It's always fun to watch it play out this time of year. They have a shot, at least.

Off topic, I know, but I thought this was pretty funny. I saw that they were replaying the Det vs NO Gm from earlier this season on the NFL Network tonight. I check my Facebook a few minutes ago and this dude on my friends list who is a huge Steelers fan is posting about the Det NO game, cheering for Detroit, commenting about the game as it goes on.

He thinks the replay is a playoff game being played live right now on the NFL network. Clueless? And no has called him out on it yet.

Steelers RB coach was hospitalized due to burns from a house fire.

Ahab.......your buddy still rooting in that game?
