I dont think they're remotely close. Don't forget GOATson dropped a sure fire TD pass against Chargers. Now that stat would be meaningless. It's not a weeden problem as much as it's idiot Patty Boy and shitty hands.wes_mantooth;1319502 wrote:sigh.

Yeah, I am just worried that he has a cannon but has too many brain farts. Hopefully it is just a rookie being a rookie. And GOATson would never drop a td pass....you must be mistaken.Commander of Awesome;1319532 wrote:I dont think they're remotely close. Biggest difference, to me, is that DA couldn't throw a short pass or a checkdown to save his life, Weeden can.wes_mantooth;1319502 wrote:sigh.

I agree, but I dont think that was the problem people have with Derek Anderson. Though it probably contributed to it by forcing passes down field more than normal.BR1986FB;1319570 wrote:Biggest difference, to me, is that DA couldn't throw a short pass or a checkdown to save his life, Weeden can.

DA became easy to defend. It starting in the second half of the second meeting (I believe) with the Steelers in 2007. Browns built a 21-9 lead at the half and Anderson was playing fairly well (3 TD passes in the first half). The Steelers adjusted in the 2nd half. They gave him all of the underneath stuff, which he couldn't hit, and blanketed the intermediate/deep routes. He was screwed. Pittsburgh pretty much showed the rest of the league the game plan on how to defend Anderson, for opponents, for the rest of the year.Pick6;1319574 wrote:I agree, but I dont think that was the problem people have with Derek Anderson. "Don't throw interceptions. Done, end of story," said Shurmur. "I want to be right to the point."
I don't get this. On a 2-7 team, I'd rather have a rookie try to have success rather than play not to lose.

Hopefully Weeden or someone who has a future in the organization remembers this and when Pat is gone they say "I want to go for it on 4th & 1 when we're inside the opponents 40. Done, end of story. I want to be right to the point."Sonofanump;1320734 wrote:

He's fucking with Weeden's head. Hell...he's fucking with the whole teams head. Shurmur is in "CYA mode", right now, throwing everyone under the bus when he talks to the media in hopes of saving his own skin. The sooner he's out of here, the better.Sonofanump;1320734 wrote:

when did blindside hits become illegal? I thought crack-back plays were taught and ran often...BR1986FB;1320960 wrote:http://cle.scout.com/2/1240283.html

Terrible call...he should appeal it. That was a very good block and nothing illegal about it.BR1986FB;1320960 wrote:http://cle.scout.com/2/1240283.html

I'm on the the sooner rather than later train when it comes to Patty Boy. I am honestly surprised that it didn't come down during the bye week. The words that come out of his moth during press conferences literally make me gag in my own throat. He sounds like a division 3 coach talking to the media about his 1st round playoff loss. Or miracle win and what he is going to do against Stubenville or Dover the next week. It boggles my mind why we hired this arrogant SOB in the 1st place, and how the HELL management keeps him around right now. Apparently the guy gives a GREAT "Old Fashioned" , no wonder Holmgrams mustache was always curled up.....SportsAndLady;1321159 wrote:Oh jesus

No "oh jesus" about it. He's publicly throwing his rookie QB, along with other players, under the bus. Even Colt McCoy didn't have to deal with that shit from Shurmur. The faster Shurmur is gone, the better.SportsAndLady;1321159 wrote:Oh jesus
Unless you really know what's going on, no need to comment. Shurmur was fucking with Weeden's head prior to this game and the kid was afraid to take shots down the field because Patty Boy had Ed Reed made out to be the "boogeyman" in Weeden's eyes before he took a snap.
