Just something regarding the Rams maybe moving away from Bradford talk... they basically had no room under the cap this season, and if they trade Bradford his cap hit next year will be around $25 million I believe (it was $22 million this year). They'll probably be cutting ties with a guy like Jason Smith, but I'm not sure how much overall cap flexibility they're going to have and whether or not trading him will even be financially feasible.

I don't think rapistberger realizes it's not just Cleveland fans who were cheering on his injury, it was the rest of the country happy to see the unpatriotic piece of shit go down. Just like the rest of the country was happy to see the rapist piece of shit injure his ankle.
Anyway, looks like we probably shouldn't hope for D-Jax http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7413440/desean-jackson-philadelphia-eagles-sorry-ok-franchise-tag

I never really thought the iggles would let him walk. I'm hoping the Colts let Garcon go, he's the guy I'd really like to have in a Browns uni next season at the WR spot.

Alshon Jeffery just scored on a hail mary to end the 1st half against Nebraska. Dude has strong hands.

Couple of under the radar guys that SOBO over on the OBR mentioned as potential FA targets that fill immediate needs. Not world beaters but guys who could start and you wouldn't have to worry about them getting their jobs done...
Atlanta DE Kroy Briermann
Cowboys LB Anthony Spencer
Cowboys WR Laurent Robinson

He has by far the best NFL body and hands in this draft as a WR.. He's my #1 WR.Mulva;1035171 wrote:Alshon Jeffery just scored on a hail mary to end the 1st half against Nebraska. Dude has strong hands.

He got into a fight with the Nebraska corner Dennard. I like his size and hands, but he doesn't really have break away speed, which is his one downfall.

I didn't really think he deserved to be thrown out from the replay I saw. Dennard did (threw a punch at Jeffrey), but outside of Dennard's punch all it was was shoving. A lot of hands to the face but stuff that happens in a lot of games.wes_mantooth;1035728 wrote:I heard he got kicked out today...what did he do?
But maybe I didn't see the whole replay. I think Blackmon is the best receiver in the draft, but if we could lock up a burner in FA I would have no problem taking Jeffrey should he slide to our 2nd first rounder.

"Of the teams that will be on the lookout for QB help this offseason -- including the Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks and Washington Redskins -- King believes that the Redskins and Seahawks are the most likely destinations. Notably, Seahawks GM John Schneider was employed by the Packers when Flynn was drafted."
From ESPN insider. The Redskins signing Flynn would bode well for the Browns.

Peyton Hillis acknowledged that he finally believes in the Madden curse after saying he didn't for nearly the entire season.
Hillis, who is on the cover of the "Madden NFL 12" video game, has struggled through a season that has included strep throat (which caused his agent to tell him to sit out a game), multiple injuries, trouble over the lack of a new contract and a reported intervention from his teammates.
So, does Hillis believe the Madden jinx now?
“Yeah, I heard about it,” Hillis said, via The Akron Beacon Journal. “I really didn’t think it would affect me. But I can tell you it’s nagged at me a little bit this year. I can’t argue that.”
Hillis added, “Things haven’t worked in my favor this year. There’s a few things that happened this year that make me believe in curses.”
Even though Hillis has run for 211 yards the past two games, Browns coach Pat Shurmur declined to say whether the team intended to re-sign the running back, who will be a free agent at the end of the season. "I think, as we look at our roster and we look at building our team ... we've got to consider everything," he said.
Hensley's slant: Hopefully for Hillis, he believes in fresh starts. Some might think Hillis has returned to form with his strong finish. But the Browns can't forget all the drama in the first 14 weeks of the season and invest another contract into Hillis. The Browns need a fresh start at running back, too.

With the amount of holes the Browns have to deal with this year, it is incomprehensible to me they would just let Hillis walk and create another one at RB.
He played well enough at the end of the year that I think you bring him back on a 2-3 year deal at a decent salary and fight your battles at other positions.
A lot of this drama with Hillis this year is as much the Browns fault as anyones.
They didn't need to open the vault for him, but you can't over pay Gocong and then turn around and offer Hillis a meager deal with almost no guaranteed moneyl and expect him to jump for joy coming off the season he had last year.
The way that whole thing was handled was total amateur hour as he was one of the most popular players on the team and one of the few marketable guys they had. Why they found it necessary to alienate him and essentially run him out of town when there are no viable back-ups on this team is peculiar.

I don't think so. I don't think it is that big of a step up. I know you guys don't want a receiver, but the difference in talent at either qb or wr to what we have would be a giant step up. I do agree that a veteran receiver needs brought in...even if we get Blackmon.DeyDurkie5;1035896 wrote:let hilllis go, draft richardson?

That's a tough call for me. Hillis came on strong after the injury but I question his ability to stay healthy. Don't want Richardson unless he falls to the ATL pick.DeyDurkie5;1035896 wrote:let hilllis go, draft richardson?
Off topic, 92.3's question of the night is "Which players on the Browns are you officially done with after this season? Who needs to go from the roster?"
My answer was "McCoy, Pashos, Wallace, MoMass & Hardesty. Think Sheldon Brown has some value if they can convince him to move to safety so Ward can play closer to the LOS and support the run."

Blackmon has said he'll only go to a team with Charlie Frye at QB.wes_mantooth;1035900 wrote:I don't think so. I don't think it is that big of a step up. I agree with your list, although...I think you probably keep either Wallace or McCoy as a backup(if you draft a qb). I disagree about Sheldon Brown though, he doesn't cover or tackle well...I just think he is done. He has had a nice career, but he is done.BR1986FB;1035903 wrote:That's a tough call for me. agree with everyone but hardesty/mo mass. think momass could be good if we get other weapons at the position. hardesty, for all the shit I've given him, would still be a nice backup to have.BR1986FB;1035903 wrote:That's a tough call for me. This is a good point. When MoMass had Braylon pulling safeties to his side...he was pretty serviceable.DeyDurkie5;1035908 wrote:agree with everyone but hardesty/mo mass. think momass could be good if we get other weapons at the position. hardesty, for all the shit I've given him, would still be a nice backup to have.

Issue with MoMass is that he's had more concussions than Cindy Crosby of the Penguins, at least it seems like Crosby's had a hundred.
My comments about Sheldon Brown are due to the fact that sometimes a team will move a corner to safety as they age. This would benefit Brown in that he wouldn't be out on that "island" all alone. He'd be dealing more with tight ends and he'd be used in pass support, not as a single coverage guy where he gets exposed. I think he'd thrive at safety for a couple of years.
Hardesty's about dead to me. As much as I supported him earlier, I question whether his "burst" is ever going to return. Just seems like he has shitty field vision...like he's a mentally challenged pigeon repeatedly flying into a closed window.

I only remember MoMass looking good 1 time ever, when he beasted the Bengals his rookie year.
Outside of that he's been shit. And he hasn't gotten any better in 3 years.
