Which is EXACTLY why I don't want Richardson at #4. Get VALUE. They want him so bad, trade down to 10, grab more picks and take him there if he's their target but NOT at 4. If you can't trade down, BPA.Commander of Awesome;1036867 wrote:I'd rather get the BPA than reach for a fucking RB.

I'm guessing the top 3 goes something like this Luck to Indy and then Kalil and Blackmon to St. Louis and Minnesota in no certain order. At that point I'd trade down to whoever wants RGIII if we're not sold on him. Guessing it's Washington at 6 or Miami at 9 who would want to move up, I'd then take Richardson if we elect not to resign Hillis and then a DE/OLB with our Falcons pick.
I've been sold on Richardson since his freshman year when I thought Mark Ingram wasn't the best RB on the roster, TR was. If we resign Hillis, then I think we have to go defense, and not Claiborne because as you guys have said, the defensive line makes the defense successful.

Big fan. Drawback is that he's a serious hothead.Pick6;1036871 wrote:I admittedly havent watched Burfict (or never noticed him)..and just watched some highlight videos of him. This guy is the next Ray Lewis/James Harrison. Would love to get him.

His highlight reel is impressive. I've seen at least 4 ASU games this season and left every game unimpressed with his play. I noticed him more on over pursuing, idiot penalties, whiffing on tackles, etc.. than I did for any positive play he made. Hell ion the bowl game he was benched for his horrible play. Never a good sign IMO. I was fully on his bandwagon coming into the season as noted by my posts, and I'm off of it now.Pick6;1036871 wrote:I admittedly havent watched Burfict (or never noticed him)..and just watched some highlight videos of him. lol would love for the Browns to trade rape Snyder, just so he drafts Jones. Then the Browns still get their QB.BR1986FB;1036877 wrote:Hearing Dan Snyder's getting a chub for Landry Jones.

BTW, viewing Burfect's stats leaves a lot to be desired. 7 total sacks in his college career 3 of which came against a scrub UC Davis team at the beginning of this season. 4Sacks in 3 years isn't a good total esp for a LBer with his athleticism. 69 tackles on the season also leaves a lot to be desired. 3 FF in his career for someone who is supposed to deliver the knockout hit, hmm 2nd round for this guy? No thanks.

the difference between the two is sheard plays under control on the field whereas burfict teeters on going on a homicidal rage with each and every play. now if he can control it, that's a great mindset for a lb but he's going to be good for at least one or two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties a gamebases_loaded;1036902 wrote:Sheard threw an art student through a glass door.

That would probably be ideal for CLE to trade with WASH and they take Jones and we can still grab RGIII and still upgrade our O and D with the other 1st rd and 2nd rd picks.

"Good news, bad news"...Shurmur is having his year end presser right now. Bad news is that he said McCoy "will be back next year and will be evaluated." Good news is that he said "I just want to win" when asked about hiring an OC and relinquishing playcalling duties. Also sounds like he had a very positive talk with Hillis.
I hope the first part is just a smokescreen (not tipping their hat on FA/draft) while the second may have been brought down by Holmgren "hey Pat, if you're going to keep your job, you're giving up play calling and bringing in an OC."

@ABJ_Browns Nate Ulrich # Browns HC Pat Shurmur joked he might have gotten more sleep if he had an OC this season. Thinks it's natural to have OC to free up HC.

Our D definitely shouldn't be our priority this off season. Plus, a lot of our defensive issues were due to the fact the offense kept having short drives that set our D up in bad field position that caused the most problems. Get a good offense that can put some points on the board and truly force other teams to have to move the ball against us and our D will get more turnovers, etc, etc.
On O, we need a receiver and need to decide if McCoy is our guy. If RG3 is available when we pick, we have to take him. Unless the team is so deadset on McCoy being the starter and Blackmon is available that we go that route. Regardless, if RG3 isn't available and Blackmon is... we have to take him. Get somebody who can catch a pass and it puts less pressure on the O-line. Also opens up the run game because teams will stop bunching up the line knowing that's all we got (that and short passes to the sidelines).

If we take Blackmon with the 1st pick bc RGIII is gone and Hillis decides to leave, we could trade our 2nd 1st rd pick up and take Richardson. Being able to take Blackmon and Richardson in the 1st round would be crazy for the offense and McCoy if they give him another shot.
