Exactly....They gave up their own 5th but that's no big deal since they still have a pick in that round anyways. 13 rookies aren't going to be making this roster.dazedconfused;1154029 wrote:gave up the falcons fourth rounder to boot

1. There is absolutely no guarantee that Richardson wouldn't have been available at #4.
2. The NFL is more of a passing league than it's ever been.
3. The Browns have roughly 26 holes to fill. I'm not for giving up picks unless it's absolutely necessary.
To move up 1 spot, to take a guy who might have been available anyway, to fill a position that has greatly diminished in terms of the importance of having a workhorse (so much that many teams now prefer a 2-back system), when none of those other holes have been filled?
That doesn't scream absolutely necessary to me.
Richardson is a beast and I think he'll have a great career. I would have accepted the pick at 4 (but not been thrilled), but to give up 3 picks to move up for him is awful. Who's the last running back to put a team over the top?
It sure as hell wasn't Montario Hardesty (aren't you glad we gave up a 3rd and two 5ths to move up for him?)

Fine with the trade especially since we are getting Trich.

Yeah because it'd be impossible for the Browns to grab a good player in rounds 4-7 because they haven't in the past..:rolleyes:IggyPride00;1154036 wrote:Here are our 4/5/7 round picks the past 5 years.
These are the kind of guys you get in those rounds.
There is not one player on that list that is anywhere near the kind of player you would pass up a guarantee of TR to have. Not one, not the whole list.
1 Trent Richardson is worth more than 3 mediocre players as far as the impact he can have on the Browns.
Do you want me to list all the good, impact players drafted in rounds 4-7?

Minnesota gets exactly what they want because they talked the Browns into being scared. Complete ownage by their front office.
I'm not livid about giving up a 3rd and 6th rounder to make sure we get our guy, but I highly doubt it was necessary.

I am more worried about what the Cleveland Browns have done, not other teams. We haven't been able to find those 4-7 round impact players, so I would rather have the guarantee of a stud over the lottery chance of maybe finding a mid round steal.SportsAndLady;1154041 wrote:Yeah because it'd be impossible for the Browns to grab a good player in rounds 4-7 because they haven't in the past..

I like the deal personally. The 4th rounder could be a player. But the 5th and 7th, eh...

If the Browns got Richardson and Floyd, I'd get a boner.

Get Richardson, use the next 2 picks on 2 WRs. I want to watch the Browns score TDs this year. Our defense isn't great, but its not bad either. Just think how good they would be if they weren't on the field every 3 minutes.

Yeah the defense alwyas gave up late TDs because they were always on the field. It'd be impossible to sustain that good of play for 48 min every game. They'll improve greatly simply by the offense improving and staying on the damn field.sleeper;1154059 wrote:Get Richardson, use the next 2 picks on 2 WRs. Is there any reason other than targeting Floyd that the Browns would be trying to move up from 22?
Richardson and Floyd would be fantastic. Would completely give our offense a new identity.

I'd love to grab Floyd, even if it means trading up to get him.

This is, however, exactly how I expected H&H to draft early though...improve your skill positions and get a RT (2nd rounder, they'll get a tackle). Don't trade away next year's picks because they'll package those to get a top QB next year. Stick your franchise QB in an offense w/ offensive weapons and a good O-line = how you do it
And they'll completely contradict all of this if they fuck around and get Weeden

If what it takes is 22 and 37, is there any fan who wouldn't be okay with that?
Would much rather have Floyd than Kendall Wright and Mike Adams or whatever combo they go with at 22/37.

Aren't you guys glad they aren't trading down? And that they are getting skill guys, not trading up to get an OL?

I am fine with it....arguably the two best players at their positions....love it
