I see how unlikely it is, but still a first rounder is better than a third. Just need the draft to get here. Less than 2 weeks away...

Exactly. I get the whole "1st rounder is better return than a 3rd rounder" mindset but not when he's going to suit up against you twice a year and make an AFC North opponent stronger.

Haven't heard from BR in a while, so I'll post the Gruden Camp video of Weeden. As I said a few pages back, I could handle taking him at 37, and I believe that would be the end of the McCoy era in Cleveland. However, I wouldn't blame them for passing on him and sticking with McCoy either. Hard to draft a 28 year old and know that he has to start almost immediately to make it worth the pick. Let's here all of your thoughts on the video...

Not a single one of us knows for a fact who will become a solid NFL player until they step on the field, stay healthy, and perform. I simply liked the camp video, Weeden's attitude, and his skills. Take it or leave it, doesn't matter to me.

That wasn't because of a perceived talent deficiency in Joe Thomas though, moreso drafting a LT at #3 over a highly rated QB (Quinn).

People are bitching about possibly taking Weeden because he simply isn't that good. He's not an elite prospect, and he struggles under pressure. Until we have a dominant O-line, he's going to be dealing with a lot of pressure. I don't like him NOT because he's 29; I don't like him because I think he's a decent at best QB, and would be a waste of a pick at or before #37.

I would MUCH rather take Weeden at 37 than Tannehill at or before 22. Don't overlook the comment that I made that I wouldn't blame them for passing on him, either. If they are confident that McCoy could lead our team (not to a super bowl, but a winning record would be a positive step), then obviously it wouldn't be necessary to blow an early pick on a QB. However, I believe NFL scouts and coaches are a MUCH better judge of potential and ability than any of you (I know, lhslep134, hard to believe with all of your professional scouting experience), so if they find it necessary to take Weeden, I wouldn't be upset over the decision. All I said is I WOULDN'T MIND if they took him, I never said THEY HAVE to take him or THEY'D BETTER take him. You guys are hilarious how short-sighted and closed-minded you are... I bet you would've passed on Arian Foster too...

So because they're "pro's" they're always right in their evaluations? I mean McShay said Russell had the best pro day he's ever seen, and every FO was gushing over him. Does that make them smarter than the guy on message boards who saw Russell for what he was, a potentially huge bust? According to your implication, BECAUSE they're paid to evaluate, they're automatically better/smarter.


What about the message board poster who uses statements from these "pro's" to make their opinion? I'm not saying Weeden sucks under pressure, these people who are paid to assess such things said so themselves. So now because I use a minority opinion, it's someone less worthy than the majority of these "pro's"? You're too funny.

I must be missing where I said this? If you could point it out to me I would appreciate it.

I believe what I ACTUALLY said was that NFL scouts and coaches are a better judge than you, me, or anyone else on here. They spend hours evaluating film, watching players in person, and doing many other things you and I are probably not even aware in preparation for the draft. This type of preparation, and well as experience, certainly puts them in a better position to make decisions when the draft rolls around. Stop manipulating posts in order to stir up controversy. You're just making yourself look ridiculous and pathetic.

You would think so....but history will tell you that that is not the case.

All one has to do is look at Mel Kuiper. 4 out of 5 OC hacks are better at evaluating talent that that ass hole.:cool:
