I'd be open to trading for Samuel since we have Haden as our shut down guy who guards the other teams #1. Depends what we give up though

I thought St. Louis, Miami and Jax all wanted the #4 slot.

Somebody is going to want that spot, no doubt about it. Plenty of players on the board that the Browns could potentially draft that other teams want.

I hope that it is St. Louis, #6, #22, #33, #37 & #39 sounds like a great plan.

I don't see the sense in STL moving back up to 4. They could've just taken the Browns offer for the #2 pick. IF the Rams were to give up 33 & 39, which they won't, they'd actually be losing out. They could've taken Cleveland's three 1sts and STILL landed their guy. Instead, they'd keep Washington's three 1st and give up the 2nd they got from Washington AND their own. In the end, they'd lose in that deal. If Miami is targeting Tannehill, also makes no sense in going to 4. Tannehill will likely just fall to them at 8. If it's Blackmon, that's a different story. Now JAX I could see as a viable trading partner.

For the people thinking of Claiborne at 4 dude on the OBR had a good point. Supposing Clairborne is a shut down cornor along with Joe Haden. Hadens contract expires in 2014 (i think) and Claiborne would expire in 2016. That is a lot of money to have tied up into two shut down cornors. what 60 mill a pop? Maybe even more? Just something to think about.

Blackmon at 4 Fleener at 22?

EDIT: Seriously could you imagine our offense with Blackmon, Little, Moore, with Watson and Fleener. Shit if Colt Mccoy cant make it with those weapons he never will.

I've been going back and forth on the #4 pick....

here is my take:

If you can trade rape a team do it and get more picks!
Draft Richardson RB at 4, Jonathen Martin OT at 22, and Sanu WR with the 37th pick

Browns rate Stephen Hill as the most "explosive" WR in the draft with the most "upside."

May look strongly at Cousins at QB in the 2nd round (I'd puke). Likely no Tannehill at 4.

Had expressed interest in signing QB Josh Johnson last week before the Niners grabbed him.

Conflicting reports on their interest in signing FA tackle Demetrius Bell.

I'd be happy getting Bell. He's a gamer.

BTW...Browns should be hearing over the next several days whether they will get any compensatory picks. I've heard anywhere from 2-5 could be awarded to them. Most likely 6th-7th rounders though.

They pursued two WRs then backed off when the Redskins overpaid.

Good.

It's why agents don't like us and I love us.

Could this be why they were unwilling to deal the #22 pick????? Hmmm....

26th March, 2012 - 1:14 pmChris Mortensen/ESPN.com - Sean Payton has broached the idea of having Bill Parcells become interim head coach of the Saints during his suspension for the 2012 season, according to multiple sources.

Sources say Payton and Parcells have spoken multiple times since his suspension was announced.

Sources familiar with Parcells offer mixed opinions as to whether he would be tempted to fill Payton's shoes during the suspension if presented with a formal offer.

"As a friend of Sean's and a football guy, I'm sure he'd consider it but they're talking about a lot of things," said one source about Parcells. "In the end, I don't think it would happen. It makes sense but it's complicated." [READ]

Assuming the draft goes luck/rg3/kalil...

I see the draft going 2 ways.

First Way-
4th pick: Blackmon
22nd: Coby Fleener/Jonathon Martin/Mercilious Whitney

2nd way-
Trade back out of 4th pick, acquire more picks this year and draft Richardson at a reasonable spot if he's still there.
22nd pick- Stephen Hill

Everything I hear about that guy/radio station is a fail. Not sure how you can even stomach to listen to that garbage. Glad I don't live in the area anymore and subjected to that BS on a daily basis.
