I read that he has permanent brain damage from his concussions he played through. Makes sense that the NFL wants to be more careful regarding concussions.

Loved the special...the part about running through the smoke was cool.

The swagger remained no matter who the coach was. It's a bad pun, but the inmates were running that asylum for sure.

It's on again this Sunday at midnight on ESPN2 and again on the 27th at 1pm on ESPN....those are the last 2 listings so you better catch it.

I remember those days. They were bad guys, but they backed it up. I was still a Buckeye but lived down here and saw them a couple times. You could not go to the old Orange Bowl neighborhood at night. It has been that bad for that long. Everybody carried a gun. Miami Vice was the hottest show on tv. Cocaine was coming in by the ton. They got paid by Luther Campbell and everyone knew it. Da U tried to get everyone not to talk to the guy making this show. I remember a popular bumper sticker in the 80's. It simply said " Will the last American out of Miami please bring the flag ? "

All you white people don't realize what it's like. It truly is a Canes Thing and you would not ever understand.

We don't realize what stealing from innocent college kids is like? Or making the choice to do drugs? Or selling drugs?

Dancing in the endzone and taunting is one thing, I am all for it. I think it adds to the game. But a lot of things these kids did were ridiculous to just say "it is a canes thing, and you have to be black to understand".

Surely you would think someone who apparently goes to Furman, which is fairly decent school academically(judging by your screenname) wouldn't turn this into a race thing

No this was turned into a racial thing when someone said I would call these "thugs" a name not appreciated by Jesse Jackson. Now if that's not offensive I don't know what it.

So when a white kid like Steve Bellisari at Ohio State got a DUI where he put other people and himself in danger he isn't a thug. But if a black kid steals he is???

When a white player gets caught doing steroids and selling them he's not a thug, but when a black player gets caught doing or selling drugs he is?? That is a stupid comment.

You people don't realize that a lot of these black players come from nothing. No father, no house, no car no money. Their only way out is football. When a black football player is low on money in college there's no daddy he can call to send him some money. Momma ain't giving him money either because she doesn't have any to give. Now is stealing the answer, no way. But these kids aren't thugs for doing something to the equivalent of white players. No sir.

I went to an inner city high school and fortunately my family was well off for our surroundings. But what none of you people want to hear is I played football with kids who didn't know if they were going to have dinner or not on the table after practice. These kids can't even depend on a simple meal.

Now the NCAA has ignored the problem for years dealing with kids from poverty in the NCAA. It's hard to get a job where football, class and studying eats up your entire day.

Your ignorant responses show you don't understand.

my father coached in the City League for 2 years and trust me, for every kid that there is that falls under this category there's also a kid who either himself or his family is unwilling to do the work to give them the opportunites to have these same basic things

Okay we're not talking about those kids. We're talking about the kids who played for the University of Miami who worked hard to get to the top of the college football world.
