Ha my bad. I missed it. We seem to be in the minority on the subject though.Hb31187;1042120 wrote:I agree with you about Oden, but we already got into like a 4 page argument about Oden a week or so ago

Oh and that video is nice, but it's nothing crazy special. I would say that dunk is actually a "shell" of how Kobe used to be able to get up.

Why does anybody bother discussing sports with sleeper? It's painfully obvious as to what he is doing and people still remain completely surprised and dismayed when he says something asinine

For a guy playing in his 16th season and coming off experimental knee surgery it is crazy special.wildcats20;1045478 wrote:Sleeper.

Those "reasons/excuses" would do nothing but further the point its a shell of himself. Not that I agree with Sleeper or anything, he is still playing at a really high level. But you do understand what 'shell of himself' is right? Talking about his 16th season and knee surgery wouldnt exactly point to someone being wrong.Skyhook79;1045915 wrote:For a guy playing in his 16th season and coming off experimental knee surgery it is crazy special.

Kobe has been playing well, seems like the wrist is affecting his shooting a little bit, only 20% from three.

I think he is just missing honestly. His form looks fine. It doesn't look strained or anything, his form/motion that is.robj55;1045952 wrote:Kobe has been playing well, seems like the wrist is affecting his shooting a little bit, only 20% from three.
I think he just shooting poorly. Then again, a blind man could shoot the 3 better than the Lakers right now.

lol, shot selection may have something to do with it as well. I'm sure that number will come up. Lebron is shooting 60% from the field which is ridiculous.wildcats20;1045958 wrote:I think he is just missing honestly. His form looks fine. Shell of himself to me would be that he looks the same as before, but inside he is empty of all the greatness he once possessed or a washed up person/ no longer awesome/ living off his past success.Laley23;1045937 wrote:Those "reasons/excuses" would do nothing but further the point its a shell of himself. Yeah his start has been insane. 60% shooting, 30.7/game, 80% FT(which is up 5% from his career avg), more boards, more steals, more assists. And doing it in 4 less min/game than his career average.robj55;1045966 wrote:lol, shot selection may have something to do with it as well. I'm sure that number will come up. Oh and he's only taken 1 three pointer this season.

May only have one 3 this season but he's leading the league in the long 2 category, otherwise known as the worst shot in basketball.

I hate that shot, but if that's what the D gives you and you can knock it down you have to take it.Commander of Awesome;1045987 wrote:May only have one 3 this season but he's leading the league in the long 2 category, otherwise known as the worst shot in basketball.

Well, to most people it is that he has a lot of wear on the tires, is not as explosive and simply cant do some of the things he used to be able to do because of some decreased athletic ability.Skyhook79;1045967 wrote:Shell of himself to me would be that he looks the same as before, but inside he is empty of all the greatness he once possessed or a washed up person/ no longer awesome/ living off his past success.

It's a semantics thing I believe....but IMO sleeper meant he's no where near what he used to be and while he's not a top 3 player or dominant as he once was.....he's still extremely good and to me it's just not possible to be extremely good but just a shell of ones self.

He dunked the ball and went around a guy 10 years younger. There is nothing Kobe "can't do" on the basketball court. His numbers haven't dropped off one bit.Laley23;1046078 wrote:Well, to most people it is that he has a lot of wear on the tires, is not as explosive and simply cant do some of the things he used to be able to do because of some decreased athletic ability.

I agree. I wasnt agreeing with Sleeper at all.
I know. I already said I didnt agree with Sleeper. It was just odd to me that you used "he is 16 year vet and had knee surgery" in the defense of how he ISNT a shell. When most would use that as a reason to why he IS.Skyhook79;1046150 wrote:He dunked the ball and went around a guy 10 years younger. There is nothing Kobe "can't do" on the basketball court. I used that to prove it was a crazy special play that wildcats said it wasn't.Laley23;1046161 wrote:I agree. I wasnt agreeing with Sleeper at all.
