Same. I think Barnes is still going to be a pretty damn good NBA player.Commander of Awesome;1185111 wrote:Anyone one want Robinson? I'd be more inclined to look at Barnes I think.

I just really wish the Cavs had gotten in the top 3 to be assured one of MKG or Beal.

Hopefully Drummond goes 2 or 3

Some rumors that the Hornets may want to trade the 10th pick.....who knows if its true but could be something to watch on draft day

RT @JasonLloydABJ: Hornets win the draft lottery. #Cavs would've won it had they lost the coin flip. #tailstypicallyneverfails

I think after thinking about it, I'd rather pick Jeremy Lamb at #4 over Barnes. Drummond can gfh

Any chance Stern is vetoing New Orleans winning the lottery?

Roger Goodell has apparently stripped the Hornets of the #1 pick and suspended Tom Benson for the NBA season too. NFL maintains that he doesn't have too much authority.

I think beal falls to 4. If not Barnes has got to be the pick. He's a pretty good scorer. Reminds me a lot of Paul pierce

Lamb has been my ideal choice for months. But I'd be happy with him, MKG, Barnes, or Beal.Commander of Awesome;1185127 wrote:I think after thinking about it, I'd rather pick Jeremy Lamb at #4 over Barnes. Drummond can gfh

I think I'm leaning this way as well. It will be interesting to see what happens during workouts in the next month, plenty of time for stocks to rise or fall.Commander of Awesome;1185127 wrote:I think after thinking about it, I'd rather pick Jeremy Lamb at #4 over Barnes. Drummond can gfh
I'd be ok with Lamb and Harkless or Miller with their 1st round picks

I love a good conspiracy, but I'm not sure how this draft could have turned out any worse for Stern. The dude and the league already have a perception of underhanded tactics, and then this happens

I actually do as well. I think Barnes will be a much better pro player than he was a college one.like_that;1185114 wrote:Same. I think Barnes is still going to be a pretty damn good NBA player.

Cavs have 4 draft picks? Wow. Wonder if they move around at all.

And lol, we win the coin flip against NO and they get the #1 pick.. Go figure.

Barnes couldn't handle or create his own shot at a high level, what makes you think he will at the Pro level? He also disappeared in multiple games.

Agree about Drummond. Guys who don't produce in college and have always struggled with motivation scare me. I don't care how impressive their physical attributes are. I think Barnes could flourish next to Kyrie. Barnes strikes me as a guy who needs someone next to him who can set him up for shots. He played really well when he was playing next to Kendall Marshall and then wasn't nearly as good when Marshall went down and had to create for himself.Commander of Awesome;1185127 wrote:I think after thinking about it, I'd rather pick Jeremy Lamb at #4 over Barnes. Barnes could handle just fine, his problem was creating. I think the bigger floor spacing and playing next to a guy like Kyrie (whom is great friends with Barnes) would benefit him greatly. The kid can stroke it and does have decent enough athleticism to attack the basket. He's got good size too.robj55;1185170 wrote:Barnes couldn't handle or create his own shot at a high level, what makes you think he will at the Pro level? He also disappeared in multiple games.

I could really see Jordan taking Drummond though and the Cavs ending up with Beal.

The handle leads to the creation, he doesn't have that. He also is an inconsistent jump shooter from what I have seen and disappears for stretches of games.hoops23;1185172 wrote:Barnes could handle just fine, his problem was creating. Way early for this talk but here it is
Sam Amico ‏@SamAmicoFSO
Chris Grant says Cavs will explore option of moving up in draft, but it's extremely difficult. "Look at history. Doesn't happen often."

I didn't take it as you were talking about crossover handles, I thought you meant the basic ability to handle the ball, including under pressure by keeping the dribble alive, etc...robj55;1185174 wrote:The handle leads to the creation, he doesn't have that. His jumpshot is pure. He has good form and with NBA repetition it'll only improve. He struggled his soph year shooting 36% from 3... That's a pretty good year for most players.
His size, at 6'8'' 215 is ideal. He's a very good defender and I think he can improve the ability to create his own shot. All you need is a few go to moves.
Pierce was a guy who had the same criticisms, but he's done jsut fine.
