CCrunner must already be a member of his religion.

The problem is that your "interpretation" doesn't line up with the facts/history of the "X".

But hey, don't let facts get in the way of your opinion.

The fact that you are allowed to vote and reproduce affects me then. Your posts with regards to this subject have been completely ignorant of any facts.

Until then, I will continue to campaign against the illogical sinkhole that is religion, and you can continue to live in a mediocrity driven religious society.
You do realize it takes just as much faith in the things unknown (as in isn't known by science) to believe in evolution and to believe there is NOT a supreme being than to believer there is?

Prove to me that a belief in a supreme being is "illogical" since you believe yourself to be so smart.

This couldn't be more contradictive if you tried. You say religious people shouldn't be allowed to vote because they infringe on your rights...think about that for a second and then contact OSU and ask for some money back.

I preach uncertainty. I am not arrogant to pretend to know what really happens and then base my life on what I do not know. That makes me a rational being, and that makes you a slave to irrationality and mediocrity.

OSU did not teach me everything. I am forever indebted to what they did teach me, and that is to never give up and to never divide anything by zero.

The thing I hate most about atheists...

"I hate how religious people are all up in your face about their religious views, so let me get all up in your face about my religious views"

Do you feel it should be a one-way street? Or that no one should be up in anyone's faces about their views?

Neither really. It's just hypocritical. Personally I don't really care to hear either. I just find it hilarious when one does exactly what they are complaining about. I know it's just Sleeper being Sleeper, but honestly what he has posted isn't really any different than hardcore atheists. They complain about religions trying to force their religious views, then turn around and try to force their religious views.

I prefer being up in peoples' faces to deliver money shots. Which might not be the same as religious views, but are more fun to give away.

lolwut. there is no faith in evolution, it is overwhelmingly supported by empirical evidence. other areas of science i agree with you (even fucking gravitational theory) but not this one. Alvin Plantiga (you know, the philosopher who made it possible for modern christian philosophers/academics to not get laughed out of their professions) acknowledges that evolution is true.

as for proving a supreme being is illogical? well the argument from evil (especially natural evil) does a damn good job of that. obviously there is much debate still, but lets not act like evolution is some fringe science lacking evidence.

That's a fair point. Although it would be a pretty boring world if no one tried to have a discussion about their personal beliefs, the end goal of which being to get the other person to concede points or to find middle ground. The "middle ground" argument is difficult in topics of religion, so usually it comes down to "I'm right because xyz" or, more exactly in a lot of discussions I try to have "I'm right, in my mind, because xyz"

I'm more of the live and let live when it comes to religion. I'm gonna do what I do, and leave me alone otherwise. My BIL posts atheist videos on his facebook ALL THE time and it annoys the hell out of me. On the other hand, my cousin posts evangelical videos on his all the time and it annoys the hell out of me.

You do get your nutjobs, but when it comes to hardcore atheists vs hardcore Christians or Jews, or whatever, it seems they just egg each other on so much that neither really practices what they preach.

Is it bad that I believe in evolution and a higher being? That a higher being set into motion the Big Bang etc etc etc?

I don't disagree with what you're saying. But I wonder if you could provide examples of "hardcore" atheists actually infringing on the rights of others? I'm not talking about the personality cults of Pol Pot/Stalin (which fulfill the sufficient conditions for consideration of religion). I'm talking about people who would consider themselves Humanists or something of the like. I've never heard of an atheist organization receiving tax breaks that systematically protected rapists for nearly half a century. There is a big difference between "I don't want religion in the government" and "I don't consider atheists to be citizens of the US or patriots. This is one nation, under god."

Where did I say rights? and what rights of yours has religion infringed on? I too have a problem with the Catholic church hiding pedos, but that was a problem within the church, not religion itself.

Bad? Absolutely not. I just have no need for the 'God of Gaps'. I have entertained your line of thinking though. The only intelligible arguments from Theism posit circumstances that you are hinting at, but unfortunately the Gaps in the aforementioned theory grow smaller with time.
