I disagree, especially if his fiancee knows her family worthless. The problems come when the significant other doesn't realize how ridiculous their family is. From what you have said, you are in the right and he is in the wrong. If they didn't want the kids drinking pop around the controllers they should have mentioned that. Sounds like her family is a bunch of creeps, which leads me to believe that you haven't met the real her. Most men don't see who their fiancee is until they get married. Then shit changes.
