Who do you think wins it this Saturday?

I'm pulling for anyone, except Griffin. I made a bet with a friend over 2 months ago. He took Griffin, I took the field. He was extremely confident and I told him he was insane. Sadly I think he wins and I'll be paying up.

Off year for the award, no truly dominant player this season.

Ball is my choice.

RG3 is my second choice.

Wouldn't be pissed if Luck won.

Richardson shouldn't win over Ball so he's out.

TM7 shouldn't even be there.

1.) RGIII
2.) Richardson
3.) Luck
4.) Ball
5.) Mathieu

This is what it's going to be.

who I want? Ball, Richardson, RGIII, Luck, Mathieu

Luck will probably win it, though he doesn't deserve it. RGIII does.

The fact that the tool from LSU got invited and not Kellen Moore or Case Keenum makes this laughable.

Good point about Keenum. He definitely deserved an invite.

I'm thinking...

RGIII
Luck
Richardson
Ball
Matieu

A while ago I didn't think Griffin had a shot in hell, I figured Luck would separate himself. The loser of the bet buys the winner a round trip flight to the loser's city. I think I'm f*cked.

Before a couple weeks ago this was wide open, still many think this will be a close vote...I think RGIII runs away with it, he impressed at the right time.

RG3 for sure. Never really had a bad game, and shined against Texas and OU and some others. Baylor probably doesn't make a bowl game without him.

If Luck wins it, then they are basing it more on his entire career rather than just this season. I'm pulling for Griffen, as he meant more to his program and team than any other player this season.

As for Matieu, although I absolutely hate the SEC and LSU (even moreso after reading the postings of the bandwagon troll CGW the past few years), I think he was by far one of the most outstanding players this season. Nominating products of their systems like Moore or Keenum over him would have been declaring that the award is for QB's and RB's only....

Keenum maybe...Moore and Boise run a fairly balanced offense.

I think the only game that hurt Griffin was against KSU. Didn't he have a chance to take them down a the end to win it? Also the other 2 losses were beatdowns.

It's been an off year for the award. Usually the media is slurping someone the entire year. I think they tried it with Luck.

There is zero doubt RG III is winning it. Not that he's necessarily who I'd vote for, but the way things are lining up, it's become clear he's got it in the bag.

Odds keep dropping: Robert Griffin is now (1/11) to win the Heisman on Bodog. Would cost an $1,100 bet to win $100.

1997 all over again. Defensive/Special Teams star Tyrann Mathieu beats out all-everything QB Andrew Luck for the Heisman Trophy.

Even though Honey Badger didn't play some offense like Charles Woodson did.....he made huge plays in big games as he helped give his team an opportunity to play for the national championship....like Woodson did.

If I had a vote I would vote Ball. Although because of all the SEC slobnobbing he probably won't even finish ahead of Richardson. My guess on to how it ends up is

1. RG3
2. Luck
3. Richardson
4. Ball
5. Mathieu

This Scripps poll is about as accurate over the years as any predictor. They have RGB3 narroly defeating Luck. I believe they poll past Heisman winners throughout the season.

Mathieu isn't anywhere near the level Woodson played at that season.

I'll disagree with that having watched both. Also, the stats are close and Mathieu has as many TD's as Woodson did that season without playing any offense like Woodson did. He's been a better PR than Woodson was. He has less INT's than Woodson did but the fumble recoveries narrow the TO margin down to 2. And Mathieu has played as big in big games as Woodson did.

BTW, I was and still am a big fan of Woodson.

Woodson also had less game suspensions for off the field activity and didn't toss the football to the ref before crossing the plane too.

The off-the-field thing may hurt Mathieu but it doesn't have a damn thing to do with his on-field play/production and that is what I was talking about in my previous post.

The toss technically should have disallowed the TD but that doesn't mean much to me. The guy made the play, did the work and tossed the ball a half-second too early.
