Boise is at least a level above the programs you mentioned, probably more. The real problem is that the teams hiding behind the "they have to earn it" nonsense are being disingenuous, the real reason is that they have a pretty good idea what may happen on-field.
And all the teams you speak of have an easy retort in my opinion. Get rid of the blue turf and ok. Homefield advantage usually just means fans and possibly refs. It shouldn't mean the actual field.

My vote goes to LSU. Why? Because they have to beat a team twice and had to play a extra game while bama sat at home. LSU had to win 3 games to get a title, while bama has to win one.

Agreed. It's fraud. Although LSU has a legit beef, they don't have nearly the beef as the other schools listed on this thread.

As I said before (elsewhere) about Western Kentucky...

I won't ever pull for Western Kentucky.

My brother-in-law is an alum. Right after he graduated, they dropped the men's soccer team (of which he played) in order to move the football team to DI-A.

Screw them! And if I ever were positive about them, my father-in-law would probably kill me.

If I'm comprehending this correctly (correct me if I'm wrong) you seem to feel that the onus of elevating the Boise program rests solely on prospective opponents. If that is the case, then I completely disagree. Since when is it incumbent upon the opponents to show up on that abomination of Blue Turf (that, lets face it, gives the appearance of desperation, mediocrity) or pay their exorbitant amount for a home and home? If I'm an AD at ANY program that has ANYTHING to lose by showing up there, and I'm good at what I do then I tell them "Thanks...but no thanks." No one has any need, desire or incumbency to aid Boise in reaching Big Boy status. That's on them. Miami did it in the 80's without the sense of entitlement Boise seems to have, check that out for reference.

Just as a side note for comparisons sake, let's compare Utah to Boise. Utah was in a similar situation for years, 11-1 10-2, 10-2....Whaaa! We get no respect! We should be in a BCS Bowl game! Well, they didn't get respect and they joined the Pac 12 this year, they played the easiest schedule in the Pac12 (no Oregon, Stanford) and got woodshedded....
Sep 1 Montana State Won 27-10
Sep 10 @USC Lost 14-23
Sep 17 @BYU Won 54-10
Oct 1 Washington Lost 14-31
Oct 8 Arizona St. Lost 14-35
Oct 15 @Pittsburgh Won 26-14
Oct 22 @California Lost 10-34
Oct 29 Oregon St. Won 27-8
Nov 5 @Arizona Won 34-21
Nov 12 UCLA Won 31-6
Nov 19 @Washington St. Won 30-27
Nov 25 Colorado Lost 14-17

Utah didn't have the damn depth to compete in Big Boy Football and neither does Boise State, despite their "cool" field turf. They passed up the Pac12...passed up the Big12...joined the Big Least...

Seems they know it too.

Down? Why would they be down? They've had a couple years to tell recruits that they're going to be playing Big Boy football. They should be rolling in 5 stars.

On June 17, 2010, the University of Utah officially accepted an invitation to join the Pac-10 Conference, effective in the 2011–2012 school year.

If by "couple of years" you mean "about one year", you're right.

They were accepted in June of 2010. Only able to sign one recruiting class before making the move.

also, what dlazz said.

Yeah, because there's so many 5 *'s out there . If there are only 20-25 of them, and UTah isnt even ranked, dont you think the top 10 teams with proven success would get the 5 *'s? LSU, the #1 team doesnt even have a 5* for this years recruiting class. Boise is a proven winner every year, while Utah barely has a top program once in awhile. In the Pac 12, USC is about the only team to get 5*'s. Oregon gets one once in awhile.

Then please ask your Y-town boy out in Lincoln why he's ducking a straight forward home and home, no outrageous money demand nor any of the other made up crap people invent.

Better ask the AD out there in cow poke but yeah, the point is Oklahoma doesn't have to play Boise, Boise needs to play Oklahoma.

No kidding - they "won" the conference.

Louisiana -Lafayette goes to the New Orleans Bowl, Florida International goes to the Beef O'Brady Bowl in Tampa. That said, I'm still not entirely sure the Sun Belt really is a D-1A conference. :)

I have nothing good to say about WKU.

They did those players dirty there. They weren't an overly successful program...but the reasoning they gave for dropping it was just blatantly lying and deceiving. The players had hardly anytime to find a place to transfer and play at. Absolute rubbish.

They can take their big red blob and burn for all I care.
