Beyond saddened to hear of the passing of former #OSU guard Brent Darby. Great guy and one tough baller. One of my favorite Buckeyes.

Anyone know what happened?

RIP #4. 30 is way too young to go.

He apparently developed serious heart problems last year and was having problems with blood clots as a result.

Way too young for something like this and by all accounts, a really great young man.

Terrible to hear. I always really liked his game and he always seemed to have a smile on his face.

One of the things I remember the most about him was his performance against Duke. Though the Bucks lost that game, he lit up Coach K's squad for 35 points. He will be missed.

Didn't he get in a small fight in a game vs IU??
Darby completely carried osu his senior year. He was great. He played with heart and was determined to never lose. I really liked Darby.

Sounds like he lit up quite a few players. GOOD ONES TOO. I wonder if he ever got a fair NBA shot.

I don't know if he did, but he didn't really have an NBA game. Undersized and not particularly quick on the dribble. He was great at getting his shots in the flow of the offense in college though.

Well said. I believe he played overseas up to 2010. Then finished his degree. He was fun to watch. Had a great feel to the game, and could really get to the line. Avg. 18pts his senior year when he did carry his team. Very sad to hear this last nite. From what I read, sounds as though the hospital dropped the ball a bit sending him home earlier in the day without doing any kind of xray or scans. Leaves behind young children. :(

I can see the hospital losing a negligence suit if what has been stated is true. How do you not run x-rays on someone having back and leg pain after having a history of clots?
