And who they lose to. UNLV on the road wasnt going to drop them from #1 to #11. losing by 1 @UK does more to prove they are top 5 than not, imo.

Seriously, we're discussing dropping UNC because they lost on the road to the no. 1 team by a point? If this were OSU, you'd be saying they belonged no lower than 2nd.

They have 2 losses this early in the season. They are only a top 10 team because of their name. It's a joke, they shouldn't even be ranked.

You gotta love the hypocrisy of certain OSU fans. As Doug's future brother-in-law Alan would say, classic!

I hate North Carolina more than anything on this earth (tied with said OSU fans), and even I can admit that UNC is a top ten team at the very least right now.

There talent level says that they are a top 5 team but so far their play has not. UNLV is not a real good team. (lost to Wichita State 89-70) other than NC has no good wins......But I think that NC is a top 5 team and will prove that by season end. If it was anyone but NC or Duke those 2 losses would have them out of the top 10 this early in the season. (never was a huge Roy Williams fan)
I guess that I didn't answer the question yet, 1 more loss before ACC competition and voters will be forced to put them out of the top 10.

A. UNLV is a good team
B. Wichita State is a good team

I'm not saying UNC isn't a top ten team, but with 2 losses this early in the season you should not be top ten. They are getting the recognition based on their name and that is the problem.

I was about to say well Florida has 2 losses to the #2 and #3 teams on the road but they're 12... then I compared the rest of their schedules. If Florida is 12 with wins over no-ones. Nothing wrong with UNC being in the top 10 still.

Also, I agree that a 3rd loss OOC this early is what it would take. UNC does have a couple of quality wins, and the loss to Kentucky wasn't a bad one and neither was UNLV. It was a bad game, but not a bad loss as UNLV isn't a nobody.

No they aren't. They do have a win over Wisconsin (top 10 at the time and top 15 now) and MSU (tourny team?). That's more than a lot of teams can say at the moment. Look at Florida, #12 with 2 losses and wins over absolutely no one.

Early season College Basketball polls are so worthless because the majority of teams are playing shitty teams.
