I missed the deadline to turn in my resume. Which is not only my fault but a true disappointment for the good people of Smithville.

I had a pretty solid plan too.

Yes. My offense included the forward pass, I labeled it the 9-1-1 offense, because when our fans saw it, they would have a stroke.

You can not tell me that is the best 5 out of 30 applicants.
I know a lot of people think that and it may have played a part but Brent is a great coach, he has done a great job at what ever program he has went to and he WINS!

I certainly don't doubt Brent's ability to coach, and feel sorry for him that he is walking into this lions den which he didn't help create. My hope is that the Smithies continue to be a powerhouse in the league and finish second to Northwestern for many years to come under his coaching.

I dont doubt his coaching ability....but I honestly cant see a job like that labeling the "list" as the best candidates.

I hear you, not doubting that either as far as the list. Wondering if some coaches were discourage with the way the Schrock situation worked out for them not to apply. Or Smithville has the list where it looks as IMO Brent would be the best pick nothing against the other coaches to take over, which I am sure what a lot of you are basically saying.

LOL! I could see some great battles down the road between them if Brent gets it. Since Brent and Thut played together at Smithville and are friends.

Hard to believe no one teaching there applied. No Baker or Smith applications?? Were they discouraged from applying?

Can't speak for Baker but Smith had a conflict of interest with wife being on the BOE.

I heard that they moved the board meeting back to Thursday. Sounds like they will be completing matters the night before and making it official in the paper the following day.

Let me be the first to unoffically welcome the new head coach Mr. Brett Besancon to Smithville.

Shocked!! Shocked I say. With that star-studded list of finalists, they went with Besancon?? Who saw that coming? :)

No. Ergo the use of the word "unofficially". We all know how it is going to go down.

So based on how things have gone recently...the BOE will give him the job...then take it away...then give it back to him. Sort of the anti-Schrock approach?

Hey Ringz it is Brent not Brett, figured you better know since he will be in charge of the green and white, if it is true!
