And Mr. McCarthy attended St. Charles (private Mooney feeder school) for 9 years before attending Mooney....any other questions?
I was at that game against Versailles in 04......McCarthy had a great game, but he also had other Div. I talent all around him including a great rb I believe his name was bruney or burney, can't remember but Kyle didn't have to carry that team like Wallace does for Norwayne. Mooney was favored to win that game too.

What Adam Wallace did though yesterday was an amazing performance, and one that is better than McCarthy. That is my unbiased opinion....

Ha, someone starts a thread about a single player on a team, but I'm the chest thumper. Just thought I'd put things in perspective a bit since every time someone has a great state final game everyone gets a hard on and pretends it was the greatest ever. Mr. Wallace had a hell of a game, but I'm not going to pretend it was better than McCarthy's. If you haven't seen the 2004 D4 game, do yourself a favor and watch it, because statistics, as you should know, never tell the whole story. For instance, is anyone going to claim that Maty Mauk is the greatest HS QB in the history of football? After all, his numbers say he is, right?

I guess Norwayne was full of a bunch of inept midgets beyond Wallace? I recall Mauk getting sacked quite a few times in the game....none by Wallace, did I imagine that? Could those inept midgets have actually done something?!

Wallace was very active on defense and playing his role for his team......just because you don't have a sack/int doesn't mean you didn't have a great defensive game....not to mention he played defense while putting up those numbers on offense.

I say that because Mooney has been loaded with div. I talent for quite some time and 2004 was no different. Norwayne on the other hand has Wallace as the only POSSIBLE div. I prospect. (Soph Kaleb Harris may get some looks) and the team went through him.

line up adam wallace anywhere you want on the field and he makes plays! he is a class act and a great football player! go celebrate your win mr. cardinal and let the young man have his time. 7 tds in any game is impressive I don't care who you play let alone a state final with everything on the line. give respect when it has been earned and if you think he has not earned it than you my friend are a sorry exscuse for a fan. congrats to adam and the rest of the bobcats, thanks for an outstanding run!

Lighten up folks. I doubt Mr. Wallace cares what random Mooney fan on the internet thinks. You all don't have to get bent out of shape over it. He doesn't get some extra MVP trophy and the championship trophy isn't extra big if we all concur that he had the greatest game ever. People are going to disagree about things. Thats life. It doesn't make me a "sorry excuse for a fan".

I don't think I am ready to put unitas on his back, but he had a very good game. I have seen him play three times this year Two wins and one lose. Not so good in first two but very good in last. He has great players around him as I said before #26 & 41 are as good and better in some areas. Nice win for the WCAL, but best in that county not a chance.

I called him the best offensive player in WCAL history, based on his performance in the last 6 games of the season, against teams were a combined 66 and 4 at the time they played them.

But I'll listen too arguments for any other players anyone might like to name.

Your basing it on one game. He is good but I could name many. Comptetion is the key when judging players. They did not have very much. I honestly think DV and DVI were better. Just my thought not taking anything away. Is he as good as kolic not a chance or even close or maybe Thompson from waynedale.

Most people would name Kolic as an argument....and he deserves to be on the very short list of candidates for sure. If you want to go back to Jon Thompson I can only go by what I heard as I was just a little guy back in those early 70's.

Are you saying the WCAL was better back in Kolic and Thompsons days than the teams Norwayne swept in the playoffs?

I guess Norwayne didn't score the first 9 times they had the ball against Johnstown or score over 100 points in the last two playoff games. Go beg more players to come play for you.

I keep reading my post that you quoted, then your quote, and I get confused as to how you considered that a response to my statement. Again, relax. I have my opinion, you have yours. Opinion =/= fact.

Exactly right, he could care less, just like the rest of us. Congrats on your State Championship.

To cease your confusion, & to make sure Mr McCarthy remains relevant, you should start his own thread. Pretty sure no1 from here will try to shorten his 15min. in any way. That would just be really tacky....,don't you think.

really start your own thread about yourself to get attention and get your buddies to talk about you because you had one very good game. One good game does not mean you all the sudden become great. I dont think he dominated the good teams (2) in the WCAL. I was told how this got started and it is just stupid and bush league. You just won state so act like it.

Joe was the best all around player Waynedale has produced. I suppose you would have to rate Matt Zuercher a close second. Joe never got a chance to play a playoff game. Matt led a team to the final 4 where they lost to eventual champ Liberty Center.
