Everyone is excited to have Urban Myer as the new head coach at OSU, but how long will it take before his players start getting in trouble and arrested? He had about 30 players arrested while he was at Florida and everyone at OSU was complaining about him being dirty and the NCAA should have been punishing the program. I say he doesn't last more than 4 yrs and OSU gets punished again from the NCAA.

I say you and others who think like you are full of crap. Just about every program goes through arrests on one level or another. Even JT had more than 20 arrests over about a two year period or so at one point. So did PSU under Paterno.

It would be naive to think arrests aren't going to happen, and it would be stupid to jump the gun if/when there are a few.

What is almost as important is how the coaching staff deals with it. At that point, you have something of relevance to discuss.

So far as the NCAA is concerned...they typically don't have jurisdiction where criminal matters are concerned. I know they've said they will be investigating PSU, but I honestly am not sure what authority they really have to do so (and no, I'm not defending PSU).

Of course the OP is trolling, but I'll go ahead and share my thoughts.

I would just like to see some better judgement in regards to character of the recruits, which can be difficult. I'm not really concerned about arrests, but more on how troubled, problematic, etc, players are handled. I'd like to see a zero tolerance policy. The big wigs at OSU better rule with a fucking IRON FIST, because I don't want to have to deal with this shit again.

Also, I know they have a advisors who help the athletes with compliance issues and stuff like that....correct? Well they need to improve that...ASAP.

Urban was told by Ohio State that while winning is important and expected, ethics are top priority at OSU. We'll be alright as Urban will have to change his ways if he wants to remain the coach at OSU.

Why is it that anytime someone post something questioning the OSU program, they are trolling? I do agree with the rest of your post and hope that they crack down on the violators when it happens and not after it is broadcast in the media first.

Didn't you see the press conference?? Meyer said the numbers quoted were lies. He also said every player that was found guilty of a felony was kicked off the team. Lesser violations were dealt with by being held out of games or other team penalties. In his meeting with the team he told players f**k ups like the year would be dealt with harshly.

He has a source within the university. Don't you read his posts on here? He told us all last weekend that Urban Meyer was signed, sealed and delivered. When no one else knew, sleeper did.

Why do you think Urban will have the same problems at OSU that he did at Florida? OSU's thugs are less thuggish than the SEC trash. SEC lowers their standards to get the premier athletes that the B1G rejects because those athletes aren't academically eligible. He won't have the arrest problem at OSU that he did in Florida.

It's from my source. This was talked about before Urban was hired and Urban agreed to not do any of the unethical stuff he was allowed to do in the SEC at Ohio State.

lol-any chance we can get you to switch? Anyway, when you're working with 100+ 18-22 year olds, there's always a chance that someone will get in trouble. However, with the admissions standards for athletes in the B1G a little more stringent than in the SEC, along with the microscope these young men are now under due to what's happened over the last year, the odds are pretty good that he won't have a problem with this.

I'll be the first to admit I was one who complained, and the first to say it is a concern. That being said, with all that has happened at OSU this past 1.5yrs...I would like to believe that Urban and OSU is going to be laying the law down pretty hard from the get go. We'll see how it plays out.
But bottom line, show me a BCS conference team that hasn't had some arrest/problems. It is what it is in this day and age.

This is definitely a concern to me, as is his treatment of the media. Both of these were things I didn't like about Urban at Florida, and I'm not going to suddenly give him a pass for these things because he is now OSU's coach.

Finally a level headed response.

I was only saying that his choices of recruits and handling of them was not that great and most people from OSU were the first to point out his faults when he was at Florida but now that he is coaching at OSU, he is an angel. I don't buy that the SEC is to blame for his past problems, a coach is responsible for his own problems. Tressel had problems at YSU and decided to bring them to the BIG Ten and look what happened, is that a BIG Ten problem, No. All I was saying is that he tends to put sports above everything else and OSU is not in the position to take those chances.

gtfo with you generalizations of the OSU fan base as a whole. I'm quite aware that Urban is no "angel." I've said it over and over again. What one or a few people say does not speak for the entire fan base.
