Good point. That team should be running laps for letting the other team score. Defense is pride. You don't give up like that.

Thing is.....playing a team that is that much better, and older, than you doesnt physically hurt you. Football...yeah...no way to pit two teams like that together. Even with baseball and one team having older kids can cause issues with a HBP.

If they cancel the season...shame on those adults.

i would have loved to have seen how hilariously bad this losing team was. i mean, you have to try pretty hard not to score more than two points when the other team isn't even trying to guard you

For the team that lost.

My God...how can a middle school team give up that many points? We had a good Jr Hi team and if ya hit 50 you were hitting on all cylinders!

We've also established you as a pussy so your opinion is null and void.

Play some defense and you won't give up 100. Play some offense and you'll score more than 2. I should be a coach.

My 8th grade team won a game 40-0.

It would have been a classless move if the team kept pressing, playing the starters, etc. But it's ridiculous to expect a team to just completely stop playing because the opponent sucks.

I didn't read the entire article, but I'm assuming there was no shot clock.

It wouldn't have been fun for anyone, but why not do what a lot of high school teams do when trying to shorten the game/possessions; just stand there and dribble forever.

I think in HS we won a game like 35-30 because we wanted to neutralize their offense; it worked.

You know what, tough shit to those 11 year old kids. If your school only has a few kids to select from, why are you playing in any Jr. High tournament to begin with?

How horrible was the team to lose by that margin? Even in middle school a team should learn how to handle the ball, pass and play defense.

Lose you lose get better or keep losing .... what so hard about understanding that..
So now winners get punished, wealthy get taxed, criminal get off, corruption overlooked, profit a dirty word, coaches get fired for behavior of players and other coaches do and that what is being taught today, just think what tomorrow will be like….</SPAN>

As a coach, I will NEVER tell my kids to stop playing. I don't care how bad the other team is. And by telling to them around and dribble is telling to stop playing. I will make adjustments, like this coach did(taking starters out, stop pressing), but I will never say stop trying. If a coach ever does that, he/she needs to be fired immediately.

The coach told them to stop playing defense.....he tried to let the other team score....no wrong was done here by the victors...

When I was in elementary, Garfield Elementary, we beat St. Peter's 68-2. Nobody went home crying or complaining.

The thing that shocked me was the other team was up 25-0 within the first two minutes and called off the full court press. But at least the coach called it off then.

The thing that shocked me was that you weren't the star player on the dominating team. Especially since you always like to brag and act like you're the best at everything.
