Miyagi would shotgun a tall boy after every run in a girl's peewee softball game, though.

NO doubt. I think he improved every game...the last 5. Not short on confidence. Just load the wagon.

It just depends on the kids you have. You don't run this Kenton offense without a stud QB who can run and throw, as well as at least 5 guys that can run sharp routes and have good hands.

Same with Norwayne. You don't run that offense without the personnel to do it. Same with Hillsdale or Smithville. You don't run their style of offense without the personnel to do it.

The spread offense is effective, just as ANY offense can be ... if you have the right makeup for it. If you don't have the personnel, a smart coach will never try to force a team to fit into an offense or defense it isn't tailored to fit into.

This Norwayne team fit this offense like a glove, though, and the coaches took advantage of that by constructing a great offensive gameplan all throughout these playoffs. My hat is off to the kids and the coaches. You're not only WCAL champs. You're OHSAA State Champs!

That was one of the worst coached games I've witnessed. It was as if I was watching 2 people play Madden. Kenton Onside kicking it almost every time, going for it on 4th down just about every time and they just kept throwing it down field. At least Norwayne kicked the ball off.........

That was a crazy game. Not the best, but pretty good.
That is Kenton Wildcat Football.....very unique and backyard-like, but they have been pretty successful with it and set some national records.

Norwayne had the better TEAM and won the state championship.....

Usually Mr. Football either doesn't even play in the championship game, or he loses in the title game.....weird how that goes.

True. Ask Mo Clarrett about St. Ignatius his senior year. :D

I do have to admit, Mr. Football seems like the Madden curse of OHSAA football.

I must say that after seeing Kenton tonight, my earlier comments were confirmed: This 2011 Kenton team is NOT as good as the 2010 Ursuline team. (I mentioned how Norwayne would NOT be intimidated because the kids on this team have faced a better team before (Ursuline, last year's playoffs), and some people didn't take lightly to that comment.)

I hadn't seen any of Kenton before today, but I would agree that it was definitely the case in this particular game.

For those asking about potential college football players on Norwayne's team:
ON THE RECRUITING TRAIL -- The run to the state championship has helped Norwayne players attract more attention from college scouts.

Harbour said Wallace, Jon Maibach and Lawrence Wolfe have been garnering lots of interest from Div. II and III colleges.

"Adam is also starting to get some interest from some Div. I schools," Harbour said. "Toledo and Youngstown State were in this week to talk.

Oh Ho! I just watched Coach Harbour's pre-game talk on Facebook. Nice to see that Orrville was such a big inspiration. ;-)

I was watching the game on STO and Orrville grad Amanda Turk was one of the sideline reporters for them. Harbour did rub it in a little bit to her about beating Orrville...thought it was pretty funny, but I agree..I think after they pretty soundly beat us it pushed them to the next level.

Check your Thesarus, Orrville was an example not an inspiration.
