$2700 on 16 people really isn't hard to do.

Couple hundred. We've had more fun with the challenge of setting a really modest budget trying to get the most for that small amount of money.

We have already spent around $500. Total will probably be around $600. That's just on the 3 kids. Probably another $200 or so on various other gifts (family).

And some of you are fucking nuts...

With 4 kids, by the time it's all said and done, I'm not going over $2500. That includes everything from Christmas cards and stamps to the food. And that's all cash.

Oh, I forgot the booze. Make it an even 3 grand. :D

Well Let's do the math:

13 people at $35 dollars a piece = $455.00
Fiance = another $250.00

Total Spending this Christmas = $705.00...roughly

I usually do a combination of cash/credit.

Christmas spending is a big point of contention between my fiance and me. Her family is small, but tends to buy everybody presents and seems to treat Christmas like it's a competition as to who can spend the most. My family is large, and as we've gotten older Christmas has been more about all being together for a few days (I live 2,500 miles away so it doesn't happen often). Most of the presents are now focused on the nieces & nephews. I'm slowly working my finance over to my way of thinking, and our budget this year is much lower than what she spent last year, but still much higher than I'd like to spend.

Our budget ($750)
Finance's side of the family (Brother, Aunt, Mom, Stepdad, Dad)- $250
Gift Exchange on my side of family- $50
My Parents- $100
Goddaughter- $50
Gifts between fiance and me- $300

I've offered to purchase this site multiple times to try and remove the minor league title from the site. First order of business is removing C4F but Justin won't sell unless its guaranteed that C4F stays on as mod. You ban C4F and this forum could be worth millions instead of the smaller offer I've put on the table.

$100 on the C-monster
$200 on Mrs. FFT's family (4 people)
$200 on my family (2 gifts in the gift swap, plus my parents)
$200 on my secretary
$500-1,000 on Mrs. FFT

I anticipate she'll spend $500ish on me.

So that puts us around $2,00ish, I guess.

We'll pay for everything with credit and pay off the balance each month, so I guess that counts as cash.

The bigger Christmas expense for us is that we're hosting a dinner party for about 20 people this year. We decided to cater it so we didn't have to bother with food, and of course, Mrs. FFT determined we needed a second dining table to accommodate . . . I'm scared to think about how much we're spending on all of this.

It's good that I went to a B1G school, so I'm loaded. I couldn't even imagine trying to do all this on an SEC salary. Amirite, sleeper?
