The Vikings improve to 4-0 on the season after a 57-53 win at a sold out Kent State last night. Kent State is now 2-1, including a win at West Virginia. The Vikings are currently ranked AP #26, #34 in the ESPN/USA Today coaches poll and #25 by CBSSports.com. They also have wins at then #7 Vanderbilt and at home against St. Bonaventure. Gary Waters is a great coach, and they have some quality players in seniors D'Aundray Brown, Aaron Pogue, Jeremy Montgomery and freshman Anton Grady.
With the success that Butler has had recently coming out of the Horizon league, and w/ the Vikings winning in the tournament a couple years back along with their win @ Vandy this year, hopefully 25+ wins will get them an at-large bid even if they falter in their conference tournament. With the NBA successfully alienating their fans, it will be interesting to see if people will start to head downtown to watch the Vikings. Cheap tickets, a nice facility and can root on a winner with some local talent.

I'm a huge OSU fan, but I like seeing CSU do well. They've been consistently good under Gary Waters and I'd like to see them continue that trend for years to come.

I was just talking with my brother about CSU today and the one thing that gets me is that they are finally solid and turning it around but yet whenever they have a game and youd think fox sports ohio would have it on, they have Notre Dame(ohio) college show on or golf time with jimmy hanline or something else meaningless. How are they ever going to get people behind the team and in the seats if you never see them on tv or dont read about them in the papers. They seem to be on their way to another solid season and Ive yet to see them on tv.
I guess Indians roundtable or Golf time is better viewing to FSO.

I agree, no idea why STO doesn't carry some of the Vikings games instead of showing the same crap all winter. Maybe they will have some of their conference games, but I doubt it. The Vikes are now 5-1 falling to Hofstra. They play this afternoon at 1-4 Rhode Island.

Dumb question here....but does CSU ever come close to selling out? If I were to come to a game, would I have any problem getting a ticket at the door?

The better question might be, do they even make tickets for Cleveland State Vikings games? Or, in order to get in the door, do you just need make it to the stadium without being killed?
Drive carefully and you should be golden.

They do not come close to selling out. I believe they put "curtains" up to block off some of the empty seats in the upper deck. It is a huge venue for a mid major.

The Vikings, now 8-1 after winning at Horizon League rival Detroit, take on Akron at the Wolstein Center on Saturday.
