Kids are working hard, I like the direction they are heading, but it does not get any easier with Senior on Friday.

Any chance we still grab a seed come tourney time? That would be funny. I think last year we had 5-6 wins prior to seeding and we grabbed the 4 spot:laugh:

Orrville will continue to improve and will be ready for tourney time. Our schedule is difficult and I just don't know how many wins we will have by the touney draw. I say we don't get a seed this year but everyone still wants to stay away from us. We will be very dangerous.

Why are we not pressing more? Lets get after it. Isn't that one reason why we gave Wooster fits and got a W

I would seed Orrville first or second if the tournament was tomorrow. If they seed 4 teams: 1. Norwayne 2. Orrville 3. Wellington 4. Hillsdale/Loudonville.otownexpert;1048916 wrote:Old Rider-

I'd like to see a Norwayne/Orrville final - however the seedings work out. I know otown would like the same 3 refs from Tuesday's game to work that game. Just kidding, otown...RedRider1;1049371 wrote:Guessing if we bring < 5 wins to the draw..best we would get is a 4 seed.

Not sure why we don't press more we have the athletes. We have been good at putting pressure on teams in the front court but not so good after the second pass. I feel it's really hard to use a diamond press with #44 in the game because if they get through the front court it increases his foul potential. A zone 2-2-1 would work but not sure why we don't use this more often? As far as Wooster they have struggled all year with guard play and we knew that going in. So we used that to our advantage and exploited. What about the old "run and jump" man to man pressure? I'm sure our coached have their reasons or concerns. We have the potential to be really good. I said we need to be patient at the beginning of the season after game 1 or 2. Although in Orrville it's difficult because were losing. Just keep in mind the boys are working hard and the tide will turn eventually. We're getting better and it was evident in the last two games.

Slaughter great coach are you kidding me ! great as long as he had zack, jake, sam, joey, max, hobbler, corbett. without those guys pathetic !OQB;1043086 wrote:I think another thing we have to look at is that these kids have been successful in a lot of different sports and expect to win. I think as fans we have been a little out of line in praising these kids a little too much, because I think some of them have it in their head that they can just show up and win because I am ________ and I play for Orrville. THAT is NOT the case and hard work, dedication, teamwork, and trust will go a long way to get this season back on track.
Coach Slaughter is a great coach and he is doing the best job he can to keep the basketball tradition strong in Orrville.

Bashing of the coaches on both Orrville threads...REALLY? Coach Slaughter has an open door, why don't you express your dislikes to him in person?Troll King;1051163 wrote:Slaughter great coach are you kidding me ! great as long as he had zack, jake, sam, joey, max, hobbler, corbett. without those guys pathetic !
What years and what sports did you play at Orrville?

I think someone is playing games with a 2nd account....you don't make an account with the name "Troll King" to be anything but an agitator.Troll King;1051163 wrote:Slaughter great coach are you kidding me ! great as long as he had zack, jake, sam, joey, max, hobbler, corbett. without those guys pathetic !
Enjoy the anonymity....
If you're for real...why stop at Coach Davault (spelled correctly) and Slaughter. Tell us what you think of Alberts, Coach K...and anyone else that's an Orrville coach.

I woud like you to list the reasons why Coach Slaughter is pathetic as a coach, I would love to hear your wisdom their Troll Wizard, if you even have a clue about what you are saying?Troll King;1051163 wrote:Slaughter great coach are you kidding me ! great as long as he had zack, jake, sam, joey, max, hobbler, corbett. without those guys pathetic !

I believe the players feed off of the coach and his behavior, and if coach Slaughter payed more attention to the game and not the refs, their record would reflect. Very athletic and talented team, it is hard for me to believe they only have one win. Orrville is by far the best team Norwayne has faced all year.

Fell behind 16-4 in 1st and never got within 10. Was 38-24 at half.
Just not a team that can come back from any sort of deficit greater than 6 points.
Bonus points for any fans making the drive tonight...

^^^Those were some great clips. It was neat to see some of the guys I played with like Cedric Simpson, DK McDonald, and Aaron Dodson...and of course I can't forget Coach Smith.
When is the last time we have packed our home gym like that?? That 1997 team had some average athletes, but several guys who knew how to play the game.
Good Luck tonight against the Knights. Bring home a win and a little confidence to go with it!

Good luck to the Riders tonight. WH may have a very good guard in Arnold, but they also have plenty of size underneath. Not overly-talented size, but plenty of size, nonetheless. I think I'm going to the game tonight. Hoping to see a good one.

Drew Brenner tosses a full court desperation throw at the end of the first half and it was GOOD. Orrville wins 66-64 in regulation. Way to go Riders.
