Take care of the basketball and we could have seen an upset tonight. #4 for Senior just dominated us tonight, smallest and quickest guy on the floor and we could not shut him down. Red Rider turnovers were the story. Old Rider and Red Rider 1 you guys just didn't motivate them enough standing in the corner.

And you didn't stop to say hi out in the lobby when I was selling those raffle tickets before the JV game.
Agreed about taking care of the ball...we were up 1 in the 4th then turned it over on 3 straight possessions and that did us in.
That guard for Senior was so fun to watch...one of the better PG's I've ever seen come through our gym (Jimmal Ball of Timken comes to mind).
Thought Zook played hard, hustled & scored points...deserved to be more than a defensive substitute at the end.
If we can push tempo in districts, we'll be a tough matchup...but if our shots aren't falling & we get in foul trouble...we could exit early.

Being that it was "senior night" on the night we actually played Mansfield Senior was interesting to me.riders1;1089323 wrote:Take care of the basketball and we could have seen an upset tonight. #4 for Senior just dominated us tonight, smallest and quickest guy on the floor and we could not shut him down. This team just had Coach Knight in their presence so I doubt RR1 or myself will be able to provide any more motivation than the General himself...or could we??

sweet draw for the Riders IMO - nobody wants to see them, I would imagine. Here's where the schedule, both OCC and OOC, is a real help

It's always a pleasure to see the return of an international fugitive to his hometown.
I guess if you write a few checks, you can smack around all the puerto rican cops you want.

yeah, I knew about that other stuff, but all of it is really small potatoes compared to being convicted (in absentia) of assaulting a police officer.
BTW-nice pic. I didn't know Bobby K owned a horse....It's nice to see he doesn't treat it any differently than he treats his players or puerto rican policemen:laugh:

Miyagi beat a horse once and cops were called. Miyagi bought local high school new bleachers to avoid punishment.

Orrville threads can be bad enough sometimes (all the time) without the 3 Muskatrolls showing up.
I banish you back to the WCAL threads.

Howdy, Pals!
BRF just got out of the emergency room at Aultman West (formerly known as Dunlap), diagnosed with a cracked rib from laughing at the "3 Muskatrolls"! And Hardy Har Har, too! Wow!
BTW, RR1: that animated gif you posted is a BRF favorite.....good job.
Another, btw: Coach Knight has always been cordial to me in all the times that I have had the opportunity to speak with him. It's always a pleasure. And what a pleasure it was to see that ESPN video and be able to look forward to more on Friday. People from other BFE's have got to be jealous of being able to say that we know the Big Man. And thus, the "satire".
Well, on to another point.
Last week, I had a chat with my pal (who happens to be the head basketball coach) and I asked him about his thoughts on the new 22 game schedule. He said that he was one of the about 20% opposed to the idea. The other 80% of the coaches went along with it because it means two less days of practice. They hate practice. It's boring, according to the coaches. Just play two more games.
They hate teaching man to man defense because it takes too long. It's easier to just zone up. Plus, with the way kids shoot today, almost all shots are either from 3 point range or inside under the bucket. Shot charts show hardly any mid-range shots. So you just cover the outside shooters and then pack it in under the bucket. Another lost art is shooting off the dribble.
It's a different game today. Oh well.

It's why games are so low scoring these days...the 3 point shot has ruined the fundamentals (FT shooting anyone?) of the game.
In the immortal words of WQKT's John Meyer.."that's right, Roy."

John would agree with Roy if Roy said the sky was green. But the ultimate yes man is now a hall of gamer.
