Figured we might as well start a thread for all of the off-season chatter.

Marlins unveil ghastly uniforms and offer big contracts to Pujols and Reyes. They might snag Reyes, but I put the odds of Pujols signing with them at 1%

ESPN was reporting he was okay with it. Found the article they referenced.
If the Marlins were able to sign the Mets shortstop, it would necessitate a position change for Hanley Ramirez, something he said in September that he would welcome and accept. "It would be nice to play next to him," Ramirez said at the time. "He's an energy guy."[LEFT]

Exciting time to be a Mets fan. Reyes is all but gone, the Mets are shopping Wright, and our GM Sandy Alderson is trying to create Moneyball Part 2 with this "big market" team. Please kick me in the balls, thank you.

Better for the Giants.

What has Sanchez done that makes anyone think he will succeed in the AL.

Cabrera had an awesome year last year, but before that he had been pretty average. Royals think they are selling high

They claim the new stadium will allow them to spend more $$$

They also saved money when they hired Ricky Martin to design the new logo

I too thought it was a better deal for San Fran. Sanchez did throw a no-hitter and was pretty lights out during the post season 2 years ago, but his walks are among the highest if not the highest in the National League.

Plus if you're going to Kansas City, who has infused a lot of young talent into their lineups and still managed to lose 90+ games, you've got to be just a little bit frustrated. There aren't any parts around him

Whats the point of selling high if you get a below average pitcher? He has pitched in the NL West for like 6 years and cant become even solid #3 man.

This. I don't want it to seem like I'm an expert on Sanchez, but with the extra innings package on cable I seem to find myself watching the Giants a ton when he's on the bump. The guy consistently runs pitchcounts up in the 100's and usually doesn't have enough gas to make it out of the 5th or 6th inning. He's gonna have to do a whole lot better than that when facing certain opponents in the American League

It's what the Marlins do. They spend a shit ton of money, win the World Series, then get rid of everyone and go back to having one of the lowest payrolls and continue to suck. As a Marlins fan its painful(will be especially painful with the new uniforms).

Matt Kemp about to sign an 8-year $160 million deal to stay with the Dodgers. Slightly surprising considering all the turmoil in LA these days.

Very suprising news... I had heard some rumblings that before they were allowed to splash into free agency that the sale of the team needed to be completed, but since this is being done internally maybe its ok. Good move for LA though. Out of him, Loney, and Either, I think he's the biggest key to their long term success

Good move for the Dodgers. At his age, he is actually WORTH that. Too bad Pujols will think he deserves more.
