This is also the worst Pats team in a while. If they didn't do shit the last 3-4 years they aren't going to do shit this season, either. Unfortunately this Jets team is worse than last year, too.

Ravens if I had to pick right now.

Jets are coming on, though. They would be my second option.

I would say if you are a wild card team, it's going to be much better as the 5th seed most likely playing the 4th seed/the AFC West winner.

right now Cincinnati is technically the 1st seed/first place in the AFC North

but I'm going to look at it as if Baltimore is the top seed

6 Pittsburgh at 3 New England...Pats win at home
5 Cincinnati at 4 San Diego...could go either way but I'll say Chargers

3 New England at 2 Houston...Pats spoil things for the Texans
4 San Diego at 1 Baltimore...Ravens handle the Bolts rather easily at home, score off turnovers and so forth

AFC Championship
3 New England vs. 1 Baltimore...Ravens win at home to advance to Super Bowl

Easy schedules to end a season don't always work out well against tough teams in the playoffs.

Decent chance: Steelers, Patriots, Ravens

Slight chance: Jets, Chargers, Texans

Playoff chance so must be mentioned: Raiders, Bills, Bengals, Titans, Chiefs

The conference as a whole is as bad as I can remember in awhile.

Well them sucking does make the conference worse as a whole. But what top team is playing at its peak of the last 5 years? Jets? No. Chargers? Not even close. Pats? Hell no. Steelers? Nope. Colts? lol.

Unless your going to take Houston or Buffalo serious, which is tough to do right now, the usual suspects are definitely down this season. Id say Baltimore is the only one playing up to the norm. But even so, they went 13-3 a few years ago, and last year had a really good regular season.

Raiders should've been on the list over the Chargers. SD is a bunch of choke artists. Heard this morning that Norv Turner's coaching record is 6 games under .500 with THAT talent? That can't be true.

Haha I was just kidding with you Laley. But I wouldn't really say the AFC is down just there are more than 2-3 teams who have a legit shot at winning the AFC. I don't give Buffalo much of a shot not after last week but I will give Houston their defense is playing pretty well and once Johnson gets back their passing game will be even better and they have a great running game. Besides anyone in the AFC West and the Bills I think any of the other 6 teams in the discussion could win the AFC.

Houston's schedule is ridiculously soft to close it out. Only tough game is Atlanta, Tampa on the road might be tricky and Cam Newton can present problems at any time. Realistically, Houston can be anywhere from 13-3 and 11-5. 13-3 would most likely give them the top seed.

Still too many unknowns, I would predict a Steeler or Raven win if they matched up again, but the Texans are for real this year. I would pick the Texans over all other AFC teams if the game is in Houston.

The offense is going to be unstoppable when Andre Johnson returns.

I still don't understand why they fired a 14-2 Marty, and then hire Norv.

Me too. Marty never got it done in the playoffs (as far as reaching/winning the Super Bowl), but he ALWAYS had his teams in the playoffs and in contention. Replacing him with Norm is basically picking an inferior model. You still won't win in the playoffs...but NOW, you might not even make it that far!

I still think the Chargers will win the division for some reason though.

Does anyone know how long McFadden will be out? Bush looked good last night but I don't know how long he can look that good.

They have the surest road INTO the playoffs. Right now, you have NE, Jets, Bills, Steelers, Ravens and Bengals all fighting for four spots (along with the possibility of a team in the West getting hot like SD tends to do late in years), essentially. The Texans have the road paved for them in their division and, in theory, SHOULD get to a first-round bye just because they'll have an easier road while those other teams beat on each other.

Personally, I don't think they'll make the Super Bowl, but I can say I'd love to have their path to the playoffs.
