Sully, I think you are underestimating Newcomerstown. They are playing well right now. Rankin is a player to be reckoned with. No coach is taking them lightly, I suspect. I didn't mean to imply that by being "brutal" the conference has a lot of great players and teams, but rather that it is more balanced and less predictable.
But don't hate on the IVC. We kinda like it!

found you (all)! Thanks for the heads up Ricola. TCC looked pretty good until they ran out of gas in the 4th tonight.

TCC is a nice team, but you can't beat Hiland playing guys pretty much entire quarters without rest. They were bent over in the 2nd.
TCC was +9 on the boards and had a ton of second and third chance points. Hiland is going to have to shore that up.
They have won 22 straight regular season games without defending that well, so I am going to just have to let it go. They are not going to be a team that locks you down the whole game. They say "We are going to put about 80 or so up there. Can you keep up?"
78, Good to see you.
Ricola, the game was in much better focus for me to see Noah have one of the best offensive halfs I've seen in a long time.
Luke Burch and Josh Yoder were really special last night too. Someone tell TMaj they need to be guarded too!

It will be a sad day in Malvern sports when they run out of Tuccis. Who will the nutty parents blame their kids' lack of playing time (and ability) on?

TCC is a nice team, very athletic and can handle the ball, but you gotta be deeper than 7 or you will run out of gas.

Junior, since Coach T had a baby boy that's under 2 years old, it will be a while before Malvern runs out of Tucci's, so it looks like the "nutty parents" will have the Tucci excuse. Maybe the youngest Tucci will play in the band.

glad you had a chance to actually see the game Pariah!
TCC did seem to wear down a bit. but we've seen other teams play with Hiland with only 6-7 players--maybe they'll do it better later in the season. Nice team tho, they'll be a factor in the conference. would have liked to have seen us rebound better (especially the first half)..tho Dyland ended up with 14 board I think, so he certainly did his share!. He played a great game despite havving only 13 points or so--some of the outside shots weren't falling, but nice floor game. And Josh off the bench was great! Like to see 4 guys in double figures.
Strasburg looks like theyre finding their groove--should be a good game this next week at the Reese center.
Glad to see you 78. Didn't realize you didn't know we were here. Join the Pickem..it's still early and nobody has been run away yet!

I think the TTC @ Malvern will be a very good game, my question is how deep a bench does Malvern have? What style game do they (Malvern) play (I'm guessing run & gun/press). Could anyone give me a scouting report so I can sleep tonight, not sure I like my IVC pickem in this one, and may need to edit before gametime.
thanks!
thanks!

I thought the starters for TCC were terrific - they can put 5 really good athletes out there who play sound and together. In that sense, I think they have an advantage over Malvern. Plus they have played several more games, although they have lost some tough ones. Malvern is really just getting their season started. They will get better as the season goes along. With the game being at Malvern, that's their advantage. Tucci and Wackerly have been carrying them so far. They will develop the other guys and chemistry the more they play. I picked TCC, but it's a tough one to call.
Ricola, It's Christmas and I'm tapped out. Ask me to buy the tickets next week.

Lucky, What are you people thinking in terms of getting rid of that foyer of a gym that gives you such a big advantage? And they are going to tear it down too? A lot of history will go down in that heap. Personally, I'll miss sitting just to the left as you go into the door with my knees in someone's back and someone's patellae in mine. I'll also miss having to pay the officials more than you did!

It will be torn down this summer & with it goes one of the biggest home-court advantages ever!! Oh yea, and I will cry real tears when that happens! Actually thinking of planning some vacation time then so I don't have to witness it!!

you all should take a nice picture of that place, and get it posterized and placed in the lobby of the new gym. The place (as ugly/terrible as it is/has been for all the visiting teams) has too much history not to be immortalized in some way. i played in that gym back in the 70s, and i'm sure there are thousands of others that have memories (some fond--some not so fond) of the place as well.

I played in it in the late 70's and early 80's and now have two sons that get to play in it once a year. It has not changed one bit and it is a huge home court advantage. I was able to show my boys the dead spots in the floor

I can't recall jlghoops playing much on that floor. He did warm up on it a lot though. He was an all-league pregame player.

Hey Tiger82, sounds like a good drunk is in order to deaden that pain!! Ricola, that's a great idea about the picture. Unfortunately, the talking heads making the decisions there are more interested in preserving the lady's head that hangs above the stage ( I'm not making that up!) Had a great suggestion from a Malvern resident at the Jr. High game the other day that we should auction off pieces of the old floor also!! Hey Tiger, my days of worrying about pissing people at the school are WAY behind me so maybe I'll take those projects on!!
