I'm getting married this coming spring, and my Fiancee learned today that she got a new position in her company. She will become a Director and more than likely now will be making more money than me. Up until this point I had her beat by a few thousand a year. I guess she technically deserves it because I only have my BSEE and she has her M.M. and M.Fin.
Looks like I need to go back to school and finish my MSEE that I quit pursuing.

Nope wouldn't bother me one bit. Fairly petty for it to bother you.

It points to the fact that she has higher education than me which typically constitutes more pay.

Should I provide these cliff notes for you in the future?

My wife makes 30k+ more than me and I love it. Because we lived through the alternative were she made $0 and it sucked.

The only info we needed to know is if your wife makes more than you and whether you like it or not. We didn't need to hear your thought process (in attempt to save face since you are ashamed apparently) on why she deserves to be paid more.

You forgot to add all the scholarships you two were awarded.

Wouldn't bother me at all. She made more than me when we met. There I was in a technical field, carrying around a laptop daily, and she was making $5000.00 more a year managing a Sun glass store.

In fact up until this year she made more than me, except for back in 2002. I say up until this year due to her base income is less, but with commission and bonuses she can possible make more than me in a year.

I wish she made a lot more than me. That way I could stay home and look at porn and the OC.

This.

As per topic. My wife DOES make more than I do, and it doesn't bother me one bit. Because she makes more, she also forks out more $$$ for bills every month (it's a difference of $150/month).

I'll go the bragging route. She's a department head for a nursing home and about to complete her BSN. I have my bachelor's in education and currently teach part time for 2 separate school districts (1 is an online academy). When I finally start working full time for 1 district, I'll be making more than she does because I'll still be able to keep teaching for the online academy. She's 100% fine with that because it'll mean more money.

As long as you are both busting your ass at work and contribute your fair share, I don't see a problem with who makes how much.

Perhaps. My wife does have 3 extra years of grad school on me though, much like your situation I need to sack up and go back to school.

Don't be silly.. scholarships have nothing to do with how much a company is willing to pay you; Your education level does. Where are we losing you at?
I'm not ashamed by any means.. but it makes you wonder if you're doing your part. Like for instance I can go back to school and finish my MSEE to potentially make more money since she put forth the effort to get her Masters.

I've been putting it off for 3 years now. I started right when I got hired and quit going. I never realized how horrible school was during undergrad. I had to force myself just to finish the semester.

It's a sad state of affairs when claiming you only have a bachelors is considered bragging. I must live in a different world than you.

Our earnings are household earnings as opposed to individual earnings. What I make as compared to what she makes is irrelevant. What we make is what truly matters to us.

No, it would not bother me at all.
