3. The champion of Conference USA, the Mid-American Conference, the Mountain West Conference, the Sun Belt Conference, or the Western Athletic Conference will earn an automatic berth in a BCS bowl game if either:karen lotz;980728 wrote:If a non bcs champion is ranked higher than a bcs automatic qualifier champion, that team is guaranteed a spot. - A. Such team is ranked in the top 12 of the final BCS Standings, or,
- B. Such team is ranked in the top 16 of the final BCS Standings and its ranking in the final BCS Standings is higher than that of a champion of a conference that has an annual automatic berth in one of the BCS bowls.

http://www.bcsfootball.org/news/story?id=48195973. The champion of Conference USA, the Mid-American Conference, the Mountain West Conference, the Sun Belt Conference, or the Western Athletic Conference will earn an automatic berth in a BCS bowl game if either:
A. Such team is ranked in the top 12 of the final BCS Standings, or,
B. Such team is ranked in the top 16 of the final BCS Standings and its ranking in the final BCS Standings is higher than that of a champion of a conference that has an annual automatic berth in one of the BCS bowls.
No more than one such team from Conference USA, the Mid-American Conference, the Mountain West Conference, the Sun Belt Conference, and the Western Athletic Conference shall earn an automatic berth in any year. (Note: a second team may be eligible for at-large eligibility as noted below.) If two or more teams from those conferences satisfy the provisions for an automatic berth, then the team with the highest finish in the final BCS Standings will receive the automatic berth, and the remaining team or teams will be considered for at-large selection if it meets the criteria.

Boise St is sitting at #7 in the BCS and michigan is at #15. I'm 100% sure that Boise St is getting in a BCS Bowl before michigan as long as Boise wins out.

Didn't know Hawai'i also shared the title. Either way, your point about the MWC (or any other non BCS conference) not having an automatic qualification clause was wrong.

There are a couple of reasons Michigan isn't in the running at the moment, but Boise only has a chance if they get the autobid and that would require both Houston and TCU to lose (or they somehow move into the top 4). I'm curious as to why you are so sure.Skyhook79;981734 wrote:Boise St is sitting at #7 in the BCS and michigan is at #15. TCU has already won the Mountain West. The only way Houston doesn't get that autobid is if they lose or TCU jumps them in the BCS, which isn't going to happen.
A one loss Boise State has an approximately 0% chance of being selected at large for a BCS bowl. If Michigan finishes in the top 14 they will be snapped up by the Sugar Bowl with the first pick to replace BCS #1. Which reminds me, I screwed up my projections, so let me go fix those.

I don't believe it will happen, but Boise is technically still alive for a share of the MWC title as TCU still has to play UNLV. If Boise wins out and TCU would happen to slip, they'd share the title and Boise could be in position for a BCS autobid (they'd obviously have to remain in front of Houston).Cleveland Buck;981902 wrote:TCU has already won the Mountain West. Watch TCU lose on a game winning MADE FG. If this were to happen and Houston was in the Conf-USA title game, they will be pissed off and beat Southern Miss by at least 75.

TCU beat them head-to-head. Does the Mountain West use something other than that to break the tie?enigmaax;981940 wrote:I don't believe it will happen, but Boise is technically still alive for a share of the MWC title as TCU still has to play UNLV. Nope, head to head. This could be outdated though.Cleveland Buck;982004 wrote:TCU beat them head-to-head. Does the Mountain West use something other than that to break the tie?

I don't think a 1-loss BSU would get in over a 2-loss Michigan. I don't believe BSU will finish high enough for the AUTOBID. They may be eligible for a BCS bowl, but I think any bowl selection committee would take Michigan over BSU. Michigan will bring more fans and more money and that is why the BCS is all about, not who the better team is.
TCU was ranked in the top 4 last season which gave them an autobid.enigmaax;981622 wrote:TCU got the autobid for non-AQ schools, right?

The Mountain West isn't going to screw itself out of a BCS bowl on that tie breaker. If they tied, Boise would go to the BCS Bowl (assuming they are still ranked ahead of Houston) and TCU would still go to the MWC's #1 bowl.

Looks like LSU will still make SEC title/title game even if they lose to Ark. After alot of figuring out, LSU looks to be in a great position no matter what. Unless they get beat bad, which wont happen.

I don't think so, Alabama will jump LSU in the BCS and Arkansas could too. No way LSU doesn't drop if they lose to Arkansas.cats gone wild;982839 wrote:Looks like LSU will still make SEC title/title game even if they lose to Ark.
