When the other options are Boise, Kansas St, maybe Baylor it's not surprising. It's not like they were beating top 10 teams. Same with Michigan.

What is the reasoning (or lack thereof) of selecting Michigan over Michigan St who won their side of the Big Ten and actually made it to the Big Ten championship game?

You have to be in the top 14 to get an at large bid. If notre dame was at 14 they would get selected but there not obviously

Both games will be sold out though. Clemson has been waiting for a BCS game for a long time, already have my tix. Plus WVU has a ton of fans. VT always travels well, and Michigan fans will also be happy to be there.

I mean, if he was the person responsible for creating the BCS or selecting the teams who play in the championship, you'd have a big conspiracy theory going for you.
