Well what do you know....Dorksen and Plant on the OC late at night at the same time. Might they be looking for another post to quote in the paper? Hmm...

I haven't posted anything since the old days on huddle. Have really enjoyed reading this thread. I have all the respect in the world for Norwayne and how they have turned their program around but I just don't see them beating this orrville defense. I won't be able to see it as I am heading to florida today but will have my lap top turned on saturday night at seven. Here's to both teams playing a great game and I will be on board in spirit if not in person. Oh by the way nation thanks for pulling Dorksen in here. I do enjoy his articles.

Not trying to argue, and this isn't the place to talk about Penn State the worst and sickest story in college sports history.
Back to topic, sorry guys

Aaron Dorksen;966006 wrote:I did talk with Red Rider Nation, but have absolutely no idea why he would think I have an axe to grind against Orrville. That's laughable to think I'm a football beat writer for The DR and don't like our area's historically best team - it's simply not true at all. I enjoy covering ALL the schools in the area. I understand every now and then people might not like an article we write but I'll stand by my record of covering Orrville since 1997 with hundreds of articles and making lots of friends there. Good luck to both teams Saturday -- and thanks for drawing me out RRN to create an account here. I can join my co-worker Mike Plant with some posts now and then.
Aaron why dont you explain to these fine folks your article after Orrville beat Wooster and why it seemed as though it wasnt as much about Orrville winning as it was Wooster losing? I still havent yet heard an apology come from you on your antics the other day about the article you wrote about Orrville/Norwayne. Funny how you join this site yesterday but can figure out how to find something that was said in July. Maybe use a quote of the other 99 pages from the same thread and dont add any fuel to the fire of an already huge game in Wayne County! Go Orrville. I know who you are rooting for!!!

wow - you are truly ridiculous with your paper-thin skin. We are all laughing at you right now. You see this in every fan base from time to time - don't heap my team with love every time you write about them and you "have an axe to grind". Feel lucky we have the sports writers in our area that we do - heads above most others in similar markets.

Sounds like you work with these guys too at the DR. I dont read your paper or receive it but I have heard enough to form an opinion and thats exactly what this site is for opinions from fans that should have absolutely nothing to do with the game but when quotes from here are put in a newspaper that has gone way too far.

In the Mahoning Valley, sportcasters and sportswriters use another high schoool forum practically as a resource for supposed facts! Don't assume your local paper has a monopoly on quotes from the web!

Maybe you guys should organize an Occupy East Liberty Street event.

Welcome to the jungle AD. Nice talking to you last night and appreciate your thoroughness in researching the Orrville defense numbers, and enjoyed the article in today's paper.
Our D has given up two scores against our second team, a kick return for a TD and a pick 6...total of 29 points....or 2.63 points per game.
If we want to get real specific, the 1st team D is allowing 12.1 points scored against them....but that's sort of splitting hairs.

Well said. We have some of the best local high school sports coverage of any paper in Northeast Ohio. Aaron Dorksen and his entire staff do an outstanding job.1486wd;966158 wrote:wow - you are truly ridiculous with your paper-thin skin. We are all laughing at you right now. Agree. Although I don't think Aaron will be posting much... probably just wanted to clear some things up.5knots;966161 wrote:Welcome AD! Nice to have you.

Well said. Aaron is from Chardon and I'm guessing he knows how many papers are sold in Orrville.
Orrville stories sells papers and from a reporters view, has to be fun to cover, just because we're always in the mix....why would he have an axe to grind?

Question: Is it possible we'll see both Orrville QBs take the field Saturday night? Could Orrville start with Brenner, then switch - use him at WR a little bit to mix it up and keep it interesting? Or does that not work out?

There is no doubt the possibility exists. Brenner and Turner split out is a matchup problem for most defenses.

Good article on the Orrville defense today. Those guys deserve it they play hard and work harder. Oustanding defense this year like always. Surprised the numbers are better than last years. Hopefully the offense keeps rolling and the defense does what it's always does and maybe we might find our way to Massillon

Couple of things...First Welcome AD, I know you will not post much on here but please do pop in from time to time. Second, I think it is a great thing for Norwayne to not know what is going on with QB position in Orrville. Gives them something else to prepare for and at this stage of the game anything you can make the other team think about is an advantage. This week is a crawl I am ready for this game to kick!
