The Fox Hole is still there:cool:. Yes lots of deer and "big racks"! LOL. I have never stepped foot in that place! Its doesn't even look structurally safe. The restaraunt (Peggy Sue's) across the street has great food!

My grandfather started the football program in Howard (now East Knox). They used to play 6-man football. My mother graduated from Howard High School and also attended Bladensburg High before they all consolidated. Its like a second home for me down there...Love it

No you're not. If people have done so, and it hasn't been fixed or removed, it was just overlooked.

Nah. Game is over, of course, but as long as people keep referencing the game and talking (discussion of the tradition just a few posts above here), it's still a relevant topic.

It will probably just die down before it closes.

I don't think going to the playoffs ever becomes tradition. Tradition is supposed to be something unique, and it is supposed to be something entirely volitional (meaning you have 100% say in it). Given that 192 teams make the playoffs annually in Ohio, it just doesn't seem like an actual tradition.

Now, I suppose I could see certain teams playing in the playoffs as part of the historical tradition, but I think that would be a different kind of tradition. There's the kind that you can do ... and you indeed do ... because you have always done it that way, and it's a unique part of your program. Then, there are other parts that are forever etched into your team's proud history.

I think just consistently contending to win the conference every single year....your "down" years become 6-4 records instead of 2-8, making the playoffs just isn't good enough. When you are the biggest game for everyone on your schedule. I think all these attribute to tradition, not just playoff appearances.

I would agree with this. A reputation earned would be something I could see as a tradition. Even on less than stellar years, if teams know that you're going to be a physical team, and teams know they're going to take a beating, regardless of whether or not they win. Same with a well-conditioned team.

In support of miyagi....there certainly must be an answer here....and its one that should be given, so we know when the WCAL can claim Tradition...

Does anyone know if the Midwest Athletic Conference has a website or records page? Now that is a league with playoff tradition.

And apparently, the MAC's is now gone? I assume it's just moved.

Can't believe we're posting on a five-year-old thread. In any case, Norwayne probably isn't as dominant this year as they were in 2011. Curious what the game will look like this weekend.

This game will be a one sided butt whipping. Norwayne will win by 40 plus if they pull the dogs off in the 3rd qt. It will be ugly!
