As fan of neither team, I left early to beat the cluster of traffic. And to get through Creston prior to the riot starting.

Really coach Smithville man handled norwayne up front and norwayne could not run on either Hillsdale or Smithville., but ran all of over the riders. Norwayne had to use a last minute drive to beat Hillsdale by passing. I am just saying both teams would probably beat Orrville with their running game's. Yes Brenner is better than anyone those other three have, but one player can't do it all.

I honestly don't think Norwayne has better athletes than Smithville or Hillsdale. I am not doing this if or what could happen stuff, but there are many players who would start for Orrville from both schools. I know that for a fact. I also don't get how you can say Brenner is better than anyone the 3 WCAL champs have. Did you watch the game last night? Great season Orrville, week 12 and on is becoming a normality. Very impressive.

I saw last night why Davault tried to get Wallace to come to Orrville. One heckuva a player. Can you imagine him running the offense with Turner & Davault on the outside and Monhem running the ball? Wow. But I guess that "Wow" still applies to Norwayne, who really proved themselves last night! Good luck to Norwayne next week against Girard at Green HS.

Had the field been better at Creston, I think Hillsdale would have had a much different game plan. However after watching the Cats last night, I am not sure it may have not been worse for my Falcons.

Great athletes don't win games....playing as a team, a unit, being able to rely on the guy next to you to get his job done wins you these games. I was very upset with a certain Orrville player who looked like he didn't want to be there and gave little effort if he didn't have the ball, I'm sure you can figure out who I'm talking about.
This game hurts, but we deserve it and got beat by a great team last night.
Good luck Bobcats!

Just got to a computer, and I have to say WOW! I did not see this one coming, it makes me realize how special it was for Smithville to win against the Cats. Sounds like Norwayne was hitting on all cylinders. Good luck next week! In all fairness, we WCAL fans cannot use one game to determine how we would have fared against Orrville in a 30 year span. I hope that the powers that be, in Orrville would give serious thought to schedualing a WCAL team now and then.

Hopefully that's a poor choice of words. You make it sound like Wallace was recruited to come to Orrville.

Trust me Norwayne did not want it any more than Orrville, just Norwayne played better last night and won.

Birddog- Smithville is big up front and run the ball well, but orrville would be way to fast for them, did you go to the Smithville playoff game? Also Norwayne's passing game was not very good and all they did was throw the ball long against Smithville. Last night they started hitting the guys underneath and letting there WR make plays.

After going to many games this year this is what I am sure of. The rest is pure speculation.
Norwayne > Orrville
Norwayne > Hillsdale
Smithville > Norwayne
Hillsdale > Smithville
Norwayne > Orrville
Norwayne > Hillsdale
Smithville > Norwayne
Hillsdale > Smithville

I was disappointed with his play also, just go north and south, quit going east and west.OQB;970745 wrote:Great athletes don't win games....playing as a team, a unit, being able to rely on the guy next to you to get his job done wins you these games. Was it not obvious that Brenner's passes were designated to a certain player for the most part, and if that player wasn't open, Brenner rarely, if at all looked for an alternate open receiver, he just took off running. On several occasions, Orrville would line up 2 or 3 receivers on one side of the field with 1 or 2 db's covering deep, (10+ yards off), Brenner rarely threw to them and they were open much of the night!OQB;970745 wrote:Great athletes don't win games....playing as a team, a unit, being able to rely on the guy next to you to get his job done wins you these games. As far as running north and south in lieu of east and west, the few passes Turner received were those ridiculous lateral/1-yard forward passes. By the time the ball got to him so to did 2-3 Norwayne defenders and east/west was his only option to attempt to get open. Norwayne's defenders are faster than Orrville obviously realized. Does it not strike you odd that Turner is the fastest guy on the field but Orrville's coaching staff never sent him deep, throwing the ball to a spot deep and force Norwayne to "catch" him.
Turner was an empty threat that Orrville wouldn't use correctly and it appeared that Norwayne knew it!

I think I said last week "This Norwayne TEAM reminds me alot of the 2010 Riders that went to the Final 4"
Anyone care to agree or disagree on that comment now?
