Okay, so he was inconsiderate after the fact. Still doesn't mean he intentionally set out to hurt someone. Obviously we disagree on whether or not we, as outside observers, can without a doubt establish the motive, intent, etc. You think you have it figured out, I don't. I know you proposed the question, but I don't recall if you answered it directly. What would you like to see happen to the player?

Side note - in another article I read about the incident, it says the band member is a dude. True? False? Does it make a difference in how anyone views it?

No, they are a guest of the home team. They are part of the whole atmosphere, they aren't the reason people go to the game. If they don't want run over, either move or sit in the stands and play the fight song.


I'm guessing you played the cymbals in HS band. Maybe the tuba. Either way probably got picked on a lot.

Played strong safety. Played in the Regional Finals in 2001.

Guess that would be your HS tenure huh? You were probably just a cymbal holder.

I didn't say you didn't play football. There was always 1 or 2 people who would march at halftime in full pads and jersey. Congrats on being that guy. What does playing in the Regional Finals have anything to do with you playing the triangle?

If this happened to a member of TBDBITL in the 'Shoe the punishment would have been dealt on the field. But in this case the guy clearly does this intentionally and should be given a severe suspension.

I don't know.... didn't the Ohio mascot beat the shyte out of Brutus a couple years ago? If I recall the Buckeyes escaped that one by the skin of their teeth and I don't recall any Buckeye players punishing any particular Bobcat on that day.

that's funny, I don't quite remember it happening that way...seems to me the OU mascot ambushed Brutus and then ran away??

I was thinking about that the other day - Brutus was on here (krazee or something like that?) and one of his posts on here ended up in some national articles on that incident. I assume the school told him to stay off here or something because I haven't seen him post ever since. Anyone know if he's here under another name?

seems to me he'd be back. but i'm not sure and don't want him getting in trouble again. i'd like to see him come back as that name once he's out of school and can post again.

My response about the Brutus/OU Mascot siutation was in response to Tiernan's post stating punishment would be administered "on the field."

No, that was last year and Ohio State won something like 33-0. It was two (or three) years before that that OU led going into the fourth quarter before OSU came back to win.

What the hell is the team even entering the field of play for before the game?

I have never in all my years (I am on the field usually with the visiting teams captains) seen the visiting team enter the field of play into the home team's band.
