Face it: this is good, old fashioned hate and envy coming out. Hate because everyone who dislikes OSU wanted them hammered into oblivion; envy because the last thing they wanted was a good coach like Meyer stepping in right behind Tressel.
I agree; many people were seeing the NCAA hammering OSU into oblivion, at least enough to make them a non-factor for about 5 years. Then when JT left, they started creaming their drawers they were so happy. Going into the UM game, many Wolverine fans thought it was going to be a complete blowout. Seeing how well a glorified high school team did against them; at their house, didn't leave them as happy as they thought they were going to be. Meyer comes aboard, word is the penalties won't be too bad... not how so many envisioned it.

Ari Wasserman @AriWassermanBSB 3 mins Former Penn State commit Tommy Schutt - a 5-star defensive tackle - has committed to Ohio State.
Looks like it's official.

The negative recruiting from hoke. Telling kids osu was going to get hammered... Which is wrong. But like I said, I want Kali's at Michigan.

No whining from the north. UM passed on him.

No way you can even try to deny that... You know hoke was telling him that. Everyone knows it. The kid was ALL buckeye and then suddenly switched. It was obvious. BUT AGAIN, go to Michigan. It'll be enjoyable watching him lose to osu.

Just saw on Rivals where Schutt is now a solid verbal to the Buckeyes.

Agreed. These are his comments regarding OSU when he flipped:
"I can't go there (Ohio State) and take penalties for something I never did," Kalis told ESPN.com on Monday. "Ohio State is a great program. I'm just not sure how long it will take them to recover. I want a solid, grounded coaching staff with a safe environment. Where there aren't such tough questions."
If you don't think Hoke was in his ear neg recruiting OSU, then you are extremely naive. Not saying it's wrong, but there is no question they were feeding him all that crap.

Fine. But if you think that's the case, then you also believe Meyer did the same Schutt.

Good thing Michigan prefers quantity over quality.

I don't think you have to sell not going to penn state, it sort of sells itself. But sure if you'd like.

I'll agree to a certain extent, but there are world's of difference between what happened at the two schools. PSU could see their entire staff gone when this is over; could take 5 years before they recover from this and start getting quality bodies going there again. no one ever really believed OSU would be down for that length of time. I have friends that send their kids to Lakewood St Edward, the school Kalis goes to, and even they said UM got into his ear. UM played the screwed up off-season OSU had for all it was worth, and it worked. It happens all the time.

We may see a run of commitments here. Players know there are only so many open spots, and if they want in, they'll need to get in soon.

This. It's being reported on the O-Zone that the Cincinnati Moeller coach was told by OSU that there are no wide receiver spots open in this class. That likely means someone like Caleb has already told the staff to save him a spot.

This is crazy, I've never seen a coach generate so much interest so quickly with so few schollies open.

Guess Urban+OSU is unique though

Honestly, I don't care. Until they sign a LOI, nothing is set. Tressel drove me crazy because he wouldn't keep going after guys who had given a verbal elsewhere. He was playing by a rule nobody else followed. It's nice to have a coach who understands this.

My thoughts exactly. I knew Meyer would get recruits, but I didn't think it would be this year. Remarkable what he's doing.

Schutt is a good pick up for OSU. Not surprising to see him flip.

For sure, and I wish Michigan wouldn't have passed on him.
