One of the best things that I ever did but felt like someone kicked me in the balls for 3 days straight. Had a buddy that went home after his and knocked one off with the wife.

Not a good idea, they say it takes a few sessions of "cleaning the pipes" to completely get rid of all residual sperm. They could have still got pregnant.


On topic, I was a week away from getting one when my wife read online that there was a higher chance of still getting pregnant after a vesectomy (tubes growing back, etc) than if she got her tubes burnt. She did NOT want any more kids so she said she was going under the knife letting me dodge that bullet ;).

Do what your doc says. My husband rested the first night then the next day decided he was going to go to Target with me then cut the grass. By Monday they were as big as grapefruits. Looked painful.

How old are you? I've heard that if you try and get one done with some doctors, they won't do it if you're single and don't have kids. Even if you're married, they won't without a wife's permission. Which is bullshit.

I need to get one myself. My girl and I don't want any kids and she is tired of the pill and has been on my case. I am thinking next spring/summer sometime maybe!

Got the Big Snip at age 32. The plan was to have Lady D'Friskies's tubes tied after c-section #3, but she was too sick (pre-eclampia) to spend the extra time on the table. She didn't need another surgery after that - it was a lot better for me to get the deed done on the lads.

Warning - with worrying about getting knocked up out of the way, some women just go crazy. The wife planned a weekend getaway for us to celebrate - it took me a week to recover. :)
