One of the oldest rivalries in the state. These two teams had their 100th meeting in 2004, which coincidentally found the rivalry's record tied at 45–45–9.
In 2008, Dover took a 2 game lead in the series by defeating New Philadelphia to end the regular season and again the following week in the first round of the playoffs.
Dover won in 2009 and 2010. This year's game is at Dover's Crater Stadium.

Both teams are playing well. I love this week of the rivalry. Looking forward to Dover maintaining their dominance over the team across the river.

There it is.

Nothing better than the anticipation of the Dover-Phila game when you really don't KNOW your team is going to win.
Confidence - arrogance - swagger are all fine and good for this week but inside your head there is still that little guy that keeps saying; "But Phila's been playing really well lately"(shut up idiot - we'll pound them as usual).

Quakers will beat the Tornadoes. I really think they have a better team this year. Call me nuts but I truly think they win by 7.

Ifft has been playing so many people lately I am not real sure who the 1st team is,even in the tight game with Cambridge he had people running in and out of the line-up at nearly every position, and I like it he has developed some depth that might be needed this year but will pay off big next year.

This is a winnable game for NP but they need to shake the demons.

You mean the D-D-D-D-Dover Demon? New Philadelphia isn't the only school with that affliction.

This should be one of the better Dover-NP games in years.

I hope NP pulls it out so the ECOL will place at least 3 teams in the playoff's. Zanesville Bishop Rosecrans can also get in. That would put an ECOL team in Div 2, 3, 4, and 5.

My sitting home in week 11 would be a safe bet right about now....I wouldn't wager too much on the wishing I was from Dover statement though. I still have all my teeth, and my sister doesn't turn me on.

What's the difference between sitting at home week 11 and the other 51 weeks? Thank God the neighbor had a job and didn't put a password on his wireless eh?

That is a logical question for a Dover fan.

Btw, I'm STILL not seeing a whole lotta, "Hey, we don't get in to the sister thingy". I DO find it bothersome, but not really surprising.

to skank, you must not be familiar with Dover i graduated last year and played on the team and never lost to Phila. And i think your confusing us regarding the whole redneck and sister liking with Steubenville who we beat last year. Dover coaches know what they're doing and play talent over name unlike Phila. And have you noticed that Dover made it to the regional finals the past 3 years? and 4 out of the last 5. So enough said Dover will continue their dominence over Phila and will win a few in the playoffs unlike Phila who plays a weak schedule so they can't make it out of the first round.

skank, Dover has had in door plumbing for a long time. Hey we do get in to your sister. Also how is your mother since you probably liven in her basement give her a hey from Wolfy. If Dover bring the A game. Phila is cannon fodder.

good post ddog72 welcome to occ and great job last year, You took a few check marks off my bucket list last year. Hoping Dover can keep it going.

Only two check marks left on that bucket list.

skank - we don't address the sister issue because its foreign to us. We are too busy driving our Corvettes around and investing in gold to consider such an act. I can imagine a person with no job and no house, living in their parents basement to occasionally "accidentally" walk in to the bathroom while their sister is showering though. Remember the good ole days when Massillon was a booming steel town? The team was winning fake championships, the paper was naming all 11 starters first team All-Ohio...no? probably because it was so long ago no one remembers it. It only exists in murals and books found at the local library that is probably about to be torn down because another levy failed.
